    Sythetic Oil Shortage Predicted

It is the result of a reduced supply of oil. Oil refineries have less oil, so they are are focusing on higher-margin products. Like always, it's all about money.

    Transmission upgrade to 6r180

I've seen posts where people have done it so it's possible, but it seems like a fairly involved project. The 4R70 is cheaper/easier to fix, but the 6R80 is generally considered to be more robust. I have 224k on my 6R80.

Battery goes completely dead in 2017 Expy overnight once a while

This can be tough to track down. I had it happen last year and it turned out to be my front passenger door switch. At random points during the day/night, it would trigger as if the door was opening. Lights would come on, then go off. I have no idea how often this was happening, but it was...

The HORRIBLE steering wheel prevents me...

Going back 30 years, my Ford steering wheels have all been extremely similar to one another. It would be tough to change drastically now.

    Side mirrors

Prior to posting, I wasn't able to find info on removing the cap - just replacing the entire mirror. When I search the exact term you used, it came up.

    Side mirrors

My RH power folding mirror has failed and I'm going to try to get from a junkyard. I have a Limited, so the back mirror cap is painted. The options are limited so I am wondering if the caps are removable (and if so, how involved it is)?

2011 Expedition Blend Door Actuator location

Not very detailed, but this guy gives an overview of it. Looks like a PITA (like most of these blend/mode door jobs). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E-WN1p8sWeg

    Triton 5.4L 3V Engine Reliability

221k on mine. I think the 2 biggest repairs that I've done were the intake manifold gasket and the water pump. The timing job isn't something I wish to tackle, but I would pay for it if not for the fact that the PA salt is eating her alive. I think she will rot out before the engine goes. My...

Welp, it finally happened to me.

There are a whole lot of options in between, but I get it. $8k doesn't go far anymore.

Welp, it finally happened to me.

I've been expecting mine to need this work done for awhile, but at nearly 221k she's still going. The road salt has eaten up so much of the truck at this point though that I wouldn't put the money into it.

What to look for when buying a gen3 expy

The 2-piece plugs are long gone, so removal issues are not a concern. You're not going to gain any longevity by swapping them out way before their time either. It's your nickel, but it's not a turbo and swapping them out every 30k doesn't actually accomplish anything outside of raising your cost...

Best tires for 2017 Expedition EL

Michelin Defenders are all I'll buy for my SUVs now. Great on dry/wet and I get 70k miles out of every set. Just so-so in the snow, but it doesn't snow much here anymore. The prices of them are ridiculous though. $305/ea at Sam's Club for the 20" and the rebate on a set of 4 has dropped to $70...

Safety Recall 25S37 for brakes - it's been a fight! How are you getting repairs done?

Lawyer or even just go small claims alone if you don't want to invest in pursuing it.
