I had the same experience with my 2016 Expedition - The fan worked great, Ford performed the recall service and now my passenger has to wiggle the wire under the dash about every two weeks to get it going again. Which Scan tool?
I have a BlueDriver scan tool. not sure about functionality beyond trouble codes and resetting, but set up and use was easy and it correctly identified the trouble code I had.
