I've been looking at it this morning. K&N doesn't make direct mpg claims but the anecdotal evidence seems to point toward about 1 mpg increase over stock paper filters. On this trip that 1 mpg will save me about $45 which, coincidently is exactly what the filter will cost...

Well crap... That didn't take long. Motor is seized up now and I have that boat anchor I was dreading in the driveway... Good thing I bought the '06 last week as a replacement. Now I guess I start calling around looking for a motor. Wish me luck.

I just bought a new to us 2006 Expedition with keyless entry. The dealership didn't have the door code. They told me it would be hidden somewhere on the truck but I'm not sure where.

I've got a 2004 with a knocking rod. Any ideas what I'm going to be looking at on cost for a rebuild or replacement motor? I'm not sure if it's even worth the bother but I hate the idea of parking a boat anchor in the driveway...
