Gotcha, I'm sure the continuous recording was the culprit versus just events. Hopefully that makes the difference, would be frustrating to go to all that effort and have it not work as intended.

What if you just get some split rubber edging to go around the opening in the bumper? Would probably cover up the ugliness from that pop-out piece pretty well, or at least inexpensively.
