    Trailer hitch.... Anyone with ProPride 3P

    In my opinion the point of a pro pride is to tow a really long travel trailer with a 1/2 ton type vehicle. It doesn’t distribute weight better than anything else. However it mitigates sway more effectively, and when you tow something really long and tall with a 1/2 ton you’re asking for sway issues.

    If prices were too high, vehicles would be sitting on lots. These are supply issues not pricing issues. Small solace to those forced to pay, but it is what it is.

    I don't think aggiegrad05 was saying that nothing ever goes wrong with the CCD suspension, but rather that problems reported are rare... unlike the standard suspension components.

    Once properly weight-redistributed my Expedition squats less than one inch in the rear, probably 500-600lbs on the hitch.

    Have you been to a scale? Empty Expedition should be close to 50/50 F/R.

    My guess is that it won’t transfer enough tongue weight for something that heavy. I don’t own one of these but they have design elements I admire (horizontal weight distribution, integrated sway control) that are unique. Unfortunately I believe they can only transfer up to 30% of tongue weight...

    We tow almost 6k, with a hitch... I really can't imagine towing that much without one, even though we're below the limit. Your front end will be light, and your rear axle might be close to the weight limit.

    I'm almost positive even the HD tow-equipped Expeditions need to use a weight distribution hitch to get the maximum allowed tongue weight and tow capacity. Have you checked the manual?
