    rough start

    my Ford is not equipped with the load leveling system. not sure where to go now. I get a rough bark sound when I start it if it has been sitting for a couple of days or if it sits in the hot sun during the day while I'm at work. Any ideas?

    air suspension?

    how can you tell if your expedition has the air suspension/load leveling system? I have an 06 XLT sport 4x4.

    it isn't a grinding noise. more like a bark sound. been researching and I hear that it could be something with the load leveling system. some say that the compressor for the air suspension could be the culprit. not sure how to tell if I have the load leveling suspension though.

    any other help. usually starts just fine if I have started it that day. sometimes leaving work it will make this rough sound when it has sat in the heat all day. I wonder if the heat has anything to do with it?

    The noise isn't consistent. Doesn't seem to matter if I've got the ac on or not.

    update I have read from a few sources that say this sound is related to the the ac compressor and it is just a characteristic of the vehicle. Anybody ever heard of that?

    I have a 2006 XLT sport. Sometimes when I start it from cold it makes a real rough sound. It starts just fine but I'm concerned that this rough start might lead to another problem. Thanks for any help.

    2006 expy

    just bought my xlt 4x4 last week. family is growing and need the space. just knew if I got something like a van or crossover I wouldnt be as happy with it. Feel like if you are proud to drive your vehicle you will take better care of it.
