Met with the shop today that performed the teardown and repair estimate & saw the hidden frame damage. 2 shops I spoke with afterwards said they could do the job, but from their experience they didn't recommend it. California is really tough recertifying to remove salvage title. So damned sad...
100% not my fault accident and it's a apparently too much for me to want to be made whole again. Really didn't think it was THAT bad to be totaled by insurance, but alas that's the verdict when shop said frame needs to be replaced. Only 80k miles and pristine. It was a special dealer order White...
BTW- I had upgraded to Bilsteins before having to replace the air ride compressor and it was a noticeable improvement over stock shocks. But then I tended to drive it a bit more spiritedly in those days than the average owner, especially on on/off ramps.
Our 2000 Eddie Bauer 2WD was a very reliable primary race car tower for 10 years and then it was relegated to the kids' college ride duties. Now 175k and still runs strong in semi-retirement. Upgraded to Bilsteins. Beyond regular maintenance; replaced leveling compressor, new fuel pump...
Sure do wish our 2000 Eddie Bauer had paint that nice, heck half that nice would be an improvement. Ours is mechanically great at 170k miles, but the paint is shot, which now that we're going to sell it is a problem. <sigh>
That's a good deal! FWIW - Our tan interior has held up nicely with a bit of good care.
I've not kept up on the latest models. Kind of surprised my 2010 EL Limited 4x4 has a little more cargo room than a 2020 MAX (while the latter has a bit more passenger room on most dimensions) & bigger fuel...
Been discussed before: https://www.expeditionforum.com/threads/brake-upgrades.37278/
My reply hasn't changed except for more happy miles since then...
For my 2010 Limited EL 4x4 I went with Power Slot Slotted Brake Rotors with Hawk Performance LTS SUV brake pads.* Was a noticeable improvement...
+1 Kudos, 2 thumbs up on the Weathertech mudflaps. Custom fit perfectly for my 2010 Exp Ltd EL, yes with the auto running boards. No drilling - uses existing screws and the molding contours perfectly.
Front & Rear Set Part Number: 110071-120089 $79.90...
2010 Expedition EL Limited 4WD in white platinum tri-coat metallic with stone leather inside. Liquid Metal Lithium6 20x9 wheels. Chromed billet grill set.
For my 2010 Limited EL 4x4 I went with Power Slot Slotted Brake Rotors (EBCrotors.com) with Hawk Performance LTS SUV brake pads.* Was a noticeable improvement and still going good after 30+k miles including towing mileage (race car trailer), family ski trips and SoCal stop-n-go traffic. Will say...
Has anybody received a quote from a shop to perform the fix? I'd be curious what hours they'd estimate/bid. Our 2000 Eddie Bauer odometer finally quit 100%. My DIY days are dwindling and I've never liked under/behind dash work.
Love my 2010 Expedition Limited EL 4x4. We also have a 2000 Eddie Baur edition standard length 2WD & I've rented '16 &' 17 Expy XLT on couple out of town vacations. The EL was absolutely necessary to accommodate my needs as a soccer coach & family ski trips. It also has proven to be a better tow...
