2000 Expedition Eddie Bauer: Investigation and next steps #2 valve spring broke, head removal ?
Know that there have been a few views. But for anyone that has either done the bore scope or pulled head what exactly are the tell tale signs of a complete replacement?- pdxexpedition

300k miles Any recommendations for maintenance
Look for blue smoke out of the tail pipe for lengthy periods of time when starting - a sure fire sign of bad valve stem seals usually. Hope you changed out the sparkplugs they tended to blow out and well known issue.- pdxexpedition

Thanks for all of the information above. It also appears most unfortunately, that there is a little bit of oil in each of the intake valve ports. Im guessing bad seals.
