99 4.6L missing and rough idle HELP!!
The 99 doesn't have the coil on cylinder set-up. Everytime I have this problem I have my brother-in-law, who is an ASE certified mechanic, pull the codes and sure enough it shows a misfire on some cylinder or another. You can pull that plug wire and sure enough there is oil on the cylinder. Seen...- Porkchop

Not sure if this is a repost of this question or not. If so, I am sorry in advance. I've got a 98 Expedition with the 4.6 engine. It's not the worse thing I've ever owned, but it's not the fastest either. I see this as a perfect canidate for an engine swap. I've had a sleu of problems...- Porkchop

misfire and dies
A little late, but oh well... There is a recall or service bulletin for that engine where the pores in the metal are letting oil seep into the plug area. Causing them to misfire. I'm having the same problem with a 4.6- Porkchop

I had the same problem as well, however it turned out to be something totally different than anything listed here. Oddly enough I am having a problem with oil getting down into the plug area.
