Yea the oil looks fairly clean like it was recently changed but I'm doing it anyways. I was going to go with some Mobil 1. Just took it for another ride and it decided to start with the noise again. It lasted for about 15 seconds then stopped for about 10 sec then heard another 2 sec. After that...- razz1

2004 5.4L 2v HYDRAULIC CHAIN TENSIONER
I just bought a 2004 Expedition with 5.4L 2valve (vin code L) engine with 160,000 miles on it. I have only had this car about a week and noticed that sometimes when it starts I will have some bad tapping from the engine. It's intermittent though. It could do it when it's cold or when its hot...- razz1
