Yea the oil looks fairly clean like it was recently changed but I'm doing it anyways. I was going to go with some Mobil 1. Just took it for another ride and it decided to start with the noise again. 2004 5.4L 2v HYDRAULIC CHAIN TENSIONER
I just bought a 2004 Expedition with 5.4L 2valve (vin code L) engine with 160,000 miles on it. I have only had this car about a week and noticed that sometimes when it starts I will have some bad tapping from the engine. It's intermittent though. It could do it when it's cold or when its hot...- razz1
