    4th Gen brakes

I've used Centric Stoptech "Cryo - Treated" Rotors when the OEM rotors weren't getting it. I replaced the Brembo's on my GT500 with these and they are MUCH better. Full disclosure, I haven't had any issues with my Expedition at 60K it still has the OEM's on all 4 corners.

    Telescoping Steering Wheel Problem

My '20 steering wheel recently experienced a refuse to "telescope" issue, while continuing to "tilt" without issue. My wife and my program locations are at the different extremes of telescope travel, additionally, when I get in and out of the vehicle, the telescope is required to move full...

    Light bulbs

Sorry about that. Full disclosure: the rest of the story is that the H11 I'm using is an HID bulb that uses a pass through connection that plugs the Ford pig tail into a harness that loops through an igniter, Transformer and Capacitor before returning to the bulb.

'18 Expedition Brake Torque Spec Confirmation

It's been a while since I did the rears on my '20; but, my recollection is that they are an "open" caliper bracket design. Meaning that the rear (only) caliper bracket does not have to be removed to remove the rotor; so, you don't have to disturb those 258 ft lb ers. Note that someone went a...

I used H11's in place of the H9 High Beams

    Light bulbs

This is going to be confusing, so read carefully: This applies to 2020 NON LED headlamps only. The Owner's Manual is WRONG! * My owners manual states that the "Halogen headlamp low beam" (top location, parabolic reflector) is a "H11" bulb. However, a "9005" Halogen was actually installed at...

2024: why better mileage in 4A than 2H???

Fuel economy comparisons are difficult unless identical routes are run exclusively (like a drive to work) multiple times to wash out things like wind direction and speed, traffic, traffic light stops, etc. Even then, something as simple as ambient temperature's effect on tire pressure unless...

    Climate Control Improvements

There are always reasons, just not good ones. My speculation, knowing Ford's internal blind spots and management drivers, I believe this is probably how it happened: 1. The internal drive for ever increasing fuel economy is obsessive to the point of being self-loathing and self-destructive...

    Climate Control Improvements

Carefully observe the outdoor temperature reading (as opposed to what temperature you know to be true). I think you were experiencing the opposite problem, for the same reason, that I and others I know have experienced. Defeating it in your case, might involve shutting the HVAC system off...

22-24 Steering Softened? anybody? Forscan setting?

While I am unsure of how to hack it, whether forscan could be used or not, there should be a way to "program" the effort. My 2012 GT500 has programmable steering effort. I currently have it adjusted to the "variable" effort mode where the effort increases with velocity. It took a little...

VIBRATION: Desperate: 2021 Expedition Platinum Max

Wow, lots of people stuck indoors the last couple of days. I read through all of the comments above looking for something that NO one mentioned; but, drives me crazy on all of my Fords after a few years of operation: A/C Compressor vibration. I don't have a good explanation mechanically for...

    Dirty Air Filter

Not surprisingly, my experience with air filters is their rate of debris fill is about 3 things: Environment, environment, environment. I drive my vehicles in NC for ~9 months a year, and in MI for ~2 months a year, elsewhere the rest of the time. NC has very few unpaved roads, and from a...

    Evaporator Temperature Sensor

Have you tried trouble shooting it on Forscan?

    Evaporator Temperature Sensor

This is brilliant. Did you actually perform this on your vehicle? If so, why does the wire to the "old" sensor have to be cut inside the HVAC housing? Why not cut it somewhere outside of the housing? I have two different friends with late model F150's that had the Evaporator's replaced...
