    Freon smell

    All the freon leaked out yesterday. Today no freon smell. I'll check it out this spring when it warms up. Hard to trouble shoot when it's so cold.

    Haven't drove the expedition in over 3 weeks. Walked into the shop where it's parked this afternoon & could smell freon. Didnt smell freon this morning. Started the engine & turned on the a/c & the compressor won't engage. Has anyone else ever had the freon leak out just setting?

    Has anyone just put led bulbs back in the factory housing? Led bulbs don't get as hot so that might fix the melting plastic problem.

    I may have to do that too. I really wondering if that plastic could catch on fire. It is melted pretty bad & is burned looking too. Where did you get an aftermarket one?

    I finally got around to the third brake light bulb replacement & when I removed the assembly three bulbs broke in two & one is melted into the plastic of the chrome plastic reflector. The three that broke were stuck in the plastic & broke off the bulbs upon removal. Anyone else had this problem...

    Ok thanks for the information. Are these prone to burning out a lot? Should I go ahead & replace all the bulbs even though only a couple are out?

    Got my 03 eb 4x4 with 63,000 miles one owner at a ford dealer here in arkansas for $12,000. Its loaded with heated & cooled leather sun roof power fold 3rd row seats 5.4 engine & towing package.

    Thanks for the information. Doesn't sound like I'll be using the overdrive. I know the original owner never pulled anything with it so they couldn't have ruined anything in the tranny.

    Is it ok to tow in overdrive? I'm pulling a trailer that's about 4000 pounds. My 03 EB 4x4 has the towing package & the 5.4 motor. Thanks for the input.

    Yes it has the tow package. Reciever hitch,oil cooler & transmission cooler.
