Will 33s fit without mods?
I put 33s on my 04 a few years ago with no lift, and the factory wheels. No rubbing. Since then I lifted the front 2 inches (Bilstein 5100) and the rear 1.5 inches (steel spacer lift and Bilstein 4600 shocks). @whtbronco Thanks, this is interesting. Does this diagram indicate that the parasitic can be narrowed down to either the window switch or the roof opening, or am I being too simplistic (as usual)? Is the relay failing each time you replace it? If so, it may be that the pump still works but is drawing excessive amperage because it is in the process of failing. @Tonka I would replace the engine vs a timing job due to the amount of miles you have on it, and swapping an engine is not much more work than a timing job on these. Agree with @whtbronco, check the stuff he mentioned, starting with the spark plugs - they will tell you a lot. Usually misfires on Gen 2s are caused by bad coils, then people replace them with low quality aftermarket coils, which can be bad right out of the box. Crank but no start
Sounds like a fuel pump or fuel pump relay. In my case on my 04, it was both. Check fuel pressure and the relay. alot of times the relay can be diagnosed visually - they get corroded and will stop working. I would also check the evap purge valve. Engine noise
On the 5.4s, noises like that are usually from timing or roller followers. This isn't a 3-valve 5.4, so you won't have to deal with cam phasers. Pretty rare for rod knock on these, usually they just burn lots of oil and lose power as they get old.- Vincent Vega
