Ok, I read all the tuner threads. Waaay to much info.!
I'm a simple man with a simple mind. I have a '99 Expy. I just want to be able to, at times, have better performance, and, at times, better gas mileage. The tuners I see that fit my '99 expy, from most expensive to least expensive (per Amazon) are:
-SCT8900 ($860)
-SCT Livewire TS 5015 F150 5.4 ($600)
-Edge 85150 ($403)
-Diablo I-1000 ($389)
-Superchips 1950 cortex ($379)
-Hypertech 42500 ($329)
What say yee?
Thanks in advance.
Jim

I have superchips cortex 1950 and love what it offers...however its not programmable...my engine is basic...but when I get the supercharger...I want a programmable tuner that can be manipulated to fit my needs based on my specific truck...I've talked to superchips and unless I give them my truck they won't ever do a programmable product...they will do updates but that's it...

I went with the hypertech, warranty is the best and I have been real happy with it. I researched it a lot, it made the most sense for me.

I went with the 1950 Cortex... I liked the changes it made to how the truck drove, even in the ECON mode.. However, I did not see ANY increase in gas mileage. If I drove it with a lighter foot, that may help, but I saw no increase from before the programmer, gas mileage wise.
