OK so here's the story, bought the car roughly 6 months ago. Had to replace the alternator about 2 months ago. Somehow alternator arced and started a fire in my driveway. Fire wasnt small but I was able to put it out before the fire spread past the air intake. It sat for about a month. So far I've replaced everything that was burned which was throttle body, vacuum hoses, other hoses, air intake (all the way to the filter), egr vacuum solenoid, some heater hoses, and I rewired the harness that connects to any of those. And of course the alternator. And finally she starts up. Idles OK. But when given the gas she crawls. I can reverse from the driveway then put it in gear floor it and I don't have to worry about hitting the house. I've changed all my plugs, checked and cleaned the injectors, it's got half a tank of gas. I double checked the vacuum lines. Idk what the problem is. And it's driving me insane. Any help is greatly appreciated

Year, make, model and engine would help.

Does the engine rev freely when the transmission is in park or neutral?

Sorry it's 98 ford expedition 5.4 eddie bauer edetion. Engine revs fine most the time in park. Sometimes it seems sluggish but that'll last a few seconds then it revs fine. Haven't tried in neutral. In reverse it seems to do just fine. Feels like I'm going faster un reverse than in drive.

From your description, it sounds as though the transmission is stuck in a higher or top gear when you place the transmission into gear, from the park position.

Not sure what would cause the problem - but have your had the vehicle scanned for any stored trouble codes (such as the transmission)?

Not yet. I don't have a scanner and I can't drive it to auto zone. It's not showing the service engine light thon(which I think is a little odd because it's deffenitly been misfiring)

Also does anybody know what 3 sensors are behind the alternator? There's one directly behind it which I believe its something to do with temperature and then there are 2 more a little lower than that one but can't tell what they are.
