I would suggest also changing the oil in the transfer box and both differentials. It wouldn’t harm to also flush the cooling system (if it’s the original coolant). Brake fluid is also due for a flush.. assuming it’s a 4 wheel drive expedition.

Welcome to the forums.
There are a number of recalls on 2017 Expy, you should make sure they have all been completed. 2 recalls on brake master cylinder, 1 on HVAC blower motor, and 1 on backup camera. Plug you VIN into this tool to see if they have been completed. https://www.nhtsa.gov/recalls

A very common failure is the fly by wire throttle body (not covered by recall). Mine failed at 50K while driving down a 2 lane road, no fun
Any person or Ford dealer with access to the OASIS system can lookup what has and has not been done to the vehicle.

If TB has not been changed, I would either proactively change it or buy one and keep it in the truck. Also check the battery terminals and age of the battery. Early 2017 batteries leaked acid from the top terms and ate the terminals. See pic. Ford will tell you the terminal is not available separately and want to sell you the entire harness, but that is not true.

Also batteries don't last as long as they used to so if yours is 5 years old or older, change it out as well.

I'd be changing the radiator hoses and the rest of them, heater bypass or whatever else you may have. Best to do these in your yard rather than to be standing on the road at 0300 in a puddle of coolant.

1. Pray....

2. Pray some mo....

3. if all else fails, just do replace EVERYTHING, hahahaha :D

j/k of course, but the things already mentioned are spot on & if you have the owners manual, there should be a list of the 100k stuff you can go by....

Star Trek reference ... well said. thanks all...Buyer's remorse setting in. Had a 2006 Silverado 4 x 4 4.8L with 190k and only had to replace the starter and a few brake speed sensors for the antilock brakes. Wife wanted a 3 row SUV. Crap !!!! However, I hear Newer GMs are Just as bad as Ford, I guess. will check with the Ford dealer on recalls and start replacing hoses. Toooo bad Ford did not put a naturally aspirated V8 in the newer Expos. May have been less problems.

2017 is a good truck, provided the recalls have been done and it is well maintained. I change the oil every 4000mi; some may think that is excessive, but I tow with it and turbos really beat up the oil. When I drain the oil from my 2011 5.4 N/A at 4000, it comes out looking just like it went in, when I drain the 2017 oil at 4000 it comes out looking like this.

You can look up recalls on the NHTSA website: https://www.nhtsa.gov/recalls

Less horsepower, much less torque, slightly worse fuel economy. I had a 2011 F-150 with the Coyote V8. Nice engine. But after two Expeditions with the 3.5 Ecoboost, I don't think I'd go back to a V8. And, I say that after a brief dalliance with a Durango R/T with the 5.7 HEMI.

I would very much like to have a 5.0 V8 option in the Expy like in the F150. I'm a big V8 fan.

When comparing the current TT V6 to the previous 5.4V8 (I currently own both) the 3.5/TT gets much better mileage under all conditions and also tows much, much better.

The downside, of course is the added complexities of the TT V6 cause it to require more maintenance and there is a potential for more problems.
