He sent it in to Blackstone for analysis. They do a breakdown of the oil’s properties and presence of things like silicon and fuel.

    Air silencer 3.5 eco boost

They all say it won’t fit, I just can’t figure out WHY it wouldn’t. All my comparisons between the 11-14 F150 and 15-17 Expedition show only very minor differences. The tubes even use the same brackets to mount. Top/bottom, parts 15/8, 16/9, 12/6, 1/11, are all the same regardless of which...

    Air silencer 3.5 eco boost

I’m taking the bold chance of wasting $450, ordering the aFe Stage 2 with the lid for a 14 F150, and praying that I’m right about the intake plumbing on these trucks being the same other than the airbox and the connector tube.

    Ecoboost rear muffler/resonator removal?

Now to find the code to turn it off because it’s annoying.

    Air silencer 3.5 eco boost

What do you mean by “air silencer”? In the 11-14 EB F150s, which is very similar to ours mechanically, even an aftermarket intake is basically worthless as far as power goes. At least until you get a tune and crank the boost up to higher levels. K&N says they gain 6.94 HP with their intake, but...

    Ecoboost rear muffler/resonator removal?

FWIW, I’m pretty sure my wife’s Platinum actually does the augmentation. I can hear the engine in her truck way more clearly than mine despite hers being overall quieter inside and mine not having stock exhaust.

    Oil Change Frequency

I spend a decent amount of over on F150Ecoboost.net, and they pretty much swear by 5K changes. That being said, one member did a very thorough analysis of his oil (Amsoil 5W-30), and while his initial 3 reports at 2400 miles, 5900 miles, and 8400 miles all showed excessively high fuel dilution...

    Ecoboost rear muffler/resonator removal?

That rear resonator is attached behind the rear tire with a slip joint too. You could probably just buy a 3” ID 45-degree bend from Summit or Jegs and reuse the factory clamp to mount it. Throw a tip on it and you’re done. Factory tubing behind the 2-bolt flange where it meets the down pipe is...

    Ecoboost rear muffler/resonator removal?

I haven’t done it yet. I went the other way and removed that giant box muffler under the truck and replaced it with a Stainless Works straight-thru first. Based on that, my truck is louder outside, but is still drone-free, and if you have the radio on at all you can’t hear the exhaust note...

    Tire pressure sensor

I do believe you’re correct on the sensors. I can’t find anything on sensor specifications for cars, but I found a bunch for tractor-trailers, and all of them specify a range the sensor is capable of reading. There’s no warnings about exceeding that range causing damage, which leads me to...

    Tire pressure sensor

You’re absolutely right about the tire sensors, I have no idea what my stock sensors are capable of handling, but I know when I was towing and had 50 in them and saw 51.5 hot, I didn’t get any warnings for sensor problems. I wonder if the sensor just maxes out and loses it’s ability to...

Where can I source this plastic panel for cheap?

Try Tascaparts.com. Look up your truck then Electrical>Power Seats. I don’t know what year your Expedition is, but that looks like what they call either the ‘housing’ or ‘valance’ to my untrained eye.

    Tire pressure sensor

I get your point, I was the one arguing that LT tires always need more pressure than a P-metric tire in the other tire thread :Big Laugh: This just happened to be one of those rare instances where it actually doesn’t. I expected more in the neighborhood of 42-43 PSI, but even I can’t argue with...

    Tire pressure sensor

Stock tire size is P275/55R20, which is load rated at 2403 pounds at 35 PSI in a passenger car application. Since it’s on an SUV, you divide that by 1.1 due to downrating of P-metric tires in an SUV/light truck application. That gives you 2,185 pounds at 35 PSI. The tire he is replacing it...

    Tire pressure sensor

Your stock sensors will be just fine. Mostly because you shouldn’t be anywhere near 80 PSI with those tires. They’d be WAY overinflated. Still, I measured mine once and they were at 51.5 PSI hot and my computer didn’t seem to care. I’m not gonna rehash the entire previous discussion about...

    Expedition Ecoboost Tune

Glad you like it. A tune on these trucks is such a huge improvement versus an NA vehicle. The bang for the buck is amazing.

    ForScan Tweaks - 2015+

In the 15-18 F150 and 16-18 Exploder it’s BCM line 726-37-01, but that doesn’t correspond with our trucks. 726-15-01 is the door keypad enable/disable; -16-01 is Smart Unlock; and -19-01 is Remote Start. That being said, you are moving into uncharted territory across the model lines for our...

    Expedition Ecoboost Tune

I know it was addressed to Loki, but throwing my two cents in here, my 5-Star tune’s transmission tuning is what leaves me wanting the custom tuning more than anything. Even under WOT, it shifts like it is trying to do anything and everything it can to avoid letting you feel it. If the engine...

    Expedition Ecoboost Tune

It’s a local place called Injected Performance. Seem to have their heads on straight and their lead programmer actually called me instead of making me call him when he wanted to get more info on what I was looking for. Spoke volumes to me on their customer service considering I was only a...

In that case, I’m all for a beater. I don’t shy away from bashing on my trucks, but if I destroy my Expedition, my wife still has hers so it doesn’t affect ability to move the family around. Plus, loading a bloody deer in the back of an Expedition makes a hell of a mess.

    Expedition Ecoboost Tune

Adding to the fun, I have an appointment in January when I get back from leave to get my truck on a dyno for 3 days. Should answer some questions about what we really get. I’ve already confirmed they adhere to the SAE J1349 standard conditions (77 degrees, 29.92 barometric, etc), so it’s about...

Taking things in order: tires affect on fuel economy will depend on how big you go, how heavy the tires are versus stock ones, and how heavy your foot is. My 2009 F-150 with the 5.4 3V got 15 mpg city/18 Highway with factory tires, and got 14/18 with 35” LT tires. My 2010 F-150 4.6 3V went from...

    Expedition Ecoboost Tune

Without knowing if they are running the SAE corrected standard (except for the 2017 chart), the dynos themselves could account for the differences between the numbers. I trust Livernois and I trust 5-Star, and without access to a dyno myself, there’s no real way to say what the actual output...

    ForScan Tweaks - 2015+

I can confirm that the key in ignition chime worked in my 15. I suspect that based on the codes (8 is chime enabled but DRL off, C is chime enabled DRL on), that putting a 4 there would actually enable DRL and disable the chime. I just haven’t bothered trying it.
