    Retrofitted Bi-Xenons

For those of you curious about lighting up that strip, if you pull the rubber cover off the low-beam bulb side, you can look down and to the left of it through the hole and see the gap where that amber strip is. Wouldn’t be hard to get a flexible LED strip and slide it in there. Plus the LED...

    PCV hose part #

I can’t find anything. Is there a part number on that white sticker by chance? Or one molded into it?

    PCV hose part #

It’s the same part number I got on Tasca Parts, who is my usual go-to for OEM Ford Parts. Maybe someone with more experience with the 5.4 will jump in. My only 5.4 I traded in with 145K on it and I never changed the PCV.

    PCV hose part #

This is what I found through Rockauto. Apparently the PCV valve is part of the hose. No listing through Ford besides that same connector hose.

    Aftermarket Headlights

I have a full bi-xenon projector retrofit setup, the LED strip was added during the build process to light up that strip. I had a thread about them a few months ago (November I think).

That it is. Still loving them months later.

    ForScan Tweaks - 2015+

Is it possible that using AUTO mode for the rear is designed to disable the rear controls in a vehicle that’s programmed that way originally but it’s not doing that in yours? Maybe try either disabling rear control through the HVAC or setting it to front control only by changing 733-01-01 to...

    15-17 Heated Steering Wheel?

The real issue with adding a HSW to the 15-17 Expedition is that it shares the basic architecture with the 11-14 F-150, which also was never available with the HSW. Otherwise it would be a simple swap with possibly some wiring, because the existing architecture would readily support it. As the...

    Shifter Cover

FWIW, the actual black shifter is only $18.27 plus shipping. Two T20 torx screws to swap it out.

    Securicode

I have SYNC 2, but when I first went to enter my own code, I somehow accidentally wiped out both my code and the factory code. At that point even the factory code became useless. I didn’t think you could delete the original code, but it sure wouldn’t work for me. I had forgotten about it until...

    Shifter Cover

I’m not totally sure. It’s not a button, it’s just a plug. I didn’t pay much attention to it, only thing I can think of is that it gives access to the shift interlock override.

    Shifter Cover

What I attached the boot to. Revised product. I did discover that you want to use something other than the 1/4” screws I used. The heads are large and the console top won’t fit over them. I moved the one in the back down, and just whacked some of the plastic off to make it fit. Given that...

    ForScan Tweaks - 2015+

It came with the CCD, BLIS, nav, moonroof, power running boards, 22” polished wheels, satin aluminum trim, door sill scuff plates that said “Platinum”, and a few other visual tweaks all standard. There were basically no options available. You could order a Limited/King Ranch with a lot of the...

    ForScan Tweaks - 2015+

The Expedition didn’t get a HSW until the ‘18 model, regardless of trim level.

    So...backed into a car...

http://www.car-part.com/cgi-bin/search.cgi I found two black ones for $150 on here, and two other black ones with no price listed.

    Shifter Cover

I’ll have to take better pics tomorrow, but the part of the shifter that has the gear indicators on it (P,R,N,D) is what I screwed it to. I left about an inch of material below the top of it. I wanted to attach it to the shifter surround, but there was no way to keep it from pulling up through...

    Shifter Cover

I had the leather lying around, so I decided to run with it. I already cut and stitched a new one with about half the material, I’ll be trying it tomorrow. Due to a lack of attaching methods, I ended up using self-drilling screws to attach it. My shifter came black. It’s only an XLT, so no...

    Shifter Cover

I have some refining to do, as you can clearly see from the excess of material, but I have a start to making the shifter look a little nicer than the factory plastic box that sits there. I made some measurements and some uneducated guesses for the material, which proved a little bit off on the...

    ForScan Tweaks - 2015+

So I found a 2017 brochure describing the “Police Engine Idle” feature on Explorer and Sedan Interceptors. It mentions a button you have to push, and scrolling down to the Expedition SSV there is no mention of it as an option.

    Dexos Oil

It’s not an advertising gimmick, it’s a different additive package designed to help reduce oil consumption. No reason it shouldn’t work just fine in your truck. Motorcraft oil is API SM, that Havoline is SN, so it meets specifications. Given all that, why not order the Motorcraft oil through...

2017 Expy EL roof rack removal

Maybe this can help clarify how it’s attached. Nutserts (basically nuts you push into a drilled hole) in the roof itself, with large screws hidden under the plastic trim. Pop off the plastic trim and you’ll be able to take those screws out and off it will come. I’ve never taken mine off, so I’m...

    ForScan Services

If you stick with what’s already proven to work, there’s not much risk of bricking it. Once you wander off the beaten path and start looking for things that haven’t been confirmed is when the risk starts. But even that has been shown to be minimal for the most part.

Just upgraded from 1999 XLT to 2017 Platinum....questions

Thanks for the update. I actually developed a similar symptom my last long trip, but it only appears at 75-85 mph. Nice to know it’s an easy fix since the dealer won’t touch mine under warranty.

    aFe Stage 2 Intake Installed!

Thanks, I’m pretty pleased that it fits despite being told it doesn’t by both Stage 3 and aFe. It’s their 2012-2014 intake.
