Finally got around to fixing this. The front pipe shifted upward when I was putting it into the filter, and was barely even in the coupler. Loosened everything up, pushed everything into place, and tightened it down; no longer hits the hood. In fact, it’s a perfect fit. Modifying the IAT sensor...
If you get FORScan and an OBDII adapter, you can do it yourself.
Also, here’s the official Ford statement on upgrading to V2.2 and adding CarPlay and Android Auto support. You can get the USB hub online for much cheaper than your dealer likely will charge for it...
Congrats, tuning is definitely NOT overrated in these trucks. I haven’t used the P/Tow in my truck, but even with 9K pounds being towed, I didn’t have any issues on the 93 Perf tune.
5 Star is pretty good at communicating if the need arises too. They’re working on my third revision for me...
I gave up on ‘economy’ tunes a long time ago when I discovered no noticeable difference in actual economy whether running 87 Eco or 93 Perf tunes in my F-150s. If my tuner didn’t come with three tunes, I wouldn’t have an Eco tune at all. Only tune I truly miss is my 93 Race tune from my...
I haven’t driven it enough to know for sure yet, and I had 5-Star send me a new tune today, so that’s going to affect it as well, but if anything, I think my mileage will go up some.
I didn’t expect the intake to make a big difference, but I’m honestly having to use less throttle due to...
The APIM is different between NAV and non-NAV SYNC 3 units. So it’s not just a software update.
According to the Ford 2016 brochure, Limited’s came with SYNC 3 without NAV, it was an optional or part of the 301A package.
You can find NAV APIMs for sale, but they’ll also require reprogramming...
Does she left-foot brake and is accidentally riding the brake pedal? I feel as if the EB-powered trucks are much more reactive to slight pressure than any of my V8-powered trucks were.
All in all I find this rather surprising. My wife’s 15 Platinum EL currently has 30K on her brakes and there’s...
Tried it again, no change. I’m also on Sync 2, not 3, so maybe that’s making the difference. Also, holding eject and next track took me to a diagnostics screen, but couldn’t tell if that was the actual reset or not.
I’m not sure about trimming the hood. I sure won’t do that. If this rain ever stops I’ll try and push it down. The hood issue is barely noticeable to be honest. I see it because it’s my truck, but from the side I doubt most people could tell. I’ll keep on it though.
I haven’t driven it much...
I’ll post more pics tomorrow, but I was too excited to wait when I got home at 1 am and decided to put this on. Took me maybe 30 minutes total, including having to modify the IAT sensor because it’s totally different than the F-150 despite the same part number...
I made it work, and it DOES...
No, I didn’t reboot it. I assumed the hard reset that FORScan does with modules was enough. I’ll try it later on today when I haven’t been up for 22 hours.

Take a read through this. It was discussed a few months back in regards to doing the swap over.
I tried it on the Expedition and couldn’t make it work even with the splash screens confirmed on my Sync update. Changing it in FORScan didn’t produce any results.
Glad you got it worked out. I haven’t dug into it, but I know you can use FORScan to reset and program PATS keys. So you might be able to get two new keys off eBay and then clear your old key out and start over with two new keys.
You cannot. Only with a computer. If you didn’t save them, you can recover most of the info from the Motorcraft site, but it doesn’t have every line of the As-Built.
From what I can find, 720-02-01.
**** *X** **** - 0, 1, 2, 3 all disable MyKey Feature Support
**** **X* **** - either 0 or 2 disables MyKey Speed Limit and Volume Limit (0 is listed as ‘disable’; 2 is listed as ‘US disable’)
Did you save your factory As-Built Data for all your modules?
On the EcoBoost motors, the muffler is actually a huge power-robber. Properly designed cat-backs have made gains of up to 100 hp and 200 lbs-ft on the dyno (F-150, no one has dynoed gains on the Expedition that I’ve found). Not all of them do, obviously, but the potential is there. When Ford put...
No, none of the F-150 systems will fit, unfortunately. Due to the independent rear versus the solid axle, the bends in the tailpipe are way different. Currently, there aren’t any options for a 15-17 EL that are out there that I have been able to find. Magnaflow is still developing their exhaust...
Isn’t glass repair/replacement free in GA by law?
I had 3 different windshields (one crack and one large chip; the cracked one they replaced again because it had bubbles in the interior layer) on my F-150s replaced by Safelite because the service advisor said they were all unrepairable. No...
He nailed it, but I’d also suggest that even though everything looks fine, it probably wouldn’t hurt to have the rear frame rails checked to ensure they are straight. The amount of force it takes to buckle a hitch could easily bend them slightly.
No such luck on the 15-17. You have two options: get the Full-Race intercooler that moves it up ($1,500) and then the hidden winch setup; or get the Curt front receiver hitch and use a receiver-mount winch plate.
