Thank you Crystal. I appreciate that. I have rarely had any problems with my service dealer Byerly Ford. I do a lot of work myself but there are times I need the professionals. Funny because I have never bought a car from them. No reason other than special circumstances at other dealers...
I like Gibson on these trucks. Had one on my 2000 and now another on my 2011. 304 SS so will never have to touch again. Once and done on my 2000 and I doubt that the new owner will have to do anything unless he just wants to.
Love my 2011 XLT - Just got to 5000 miles. Rotated tires and found that all 4 shocks / struts are leaking. A couple pretty bad. Took to dealer and they confirmed. All 4 being replaced. Ford must have got a bad batch of shocks from manufacturer when mine was built. Anyone else see this??
Sorry, don't have the ability to get you the sound. During normal driving you really don't notice it much, especially with the new 6 speeds shifting at such low RPMs. But it does give you a low mellow (pleasing) sound at these low Speeds driving around town. In the stock I could not hear...
You found me. I have the Gibson exhaust. Had it on a 2000 model and put it on my 2011 right away. I got the all 304 SS cat back system. Easy Install. Not as much character as my 2000 system with dual outlets but better than stock. No Room under the unit for a dual outlet so they only offer...
I got the Hypertech tune installed in my 2011. Can't tell a lot of difference in daily driving but I do drive it real easy with only about 4 miles to work.
Changed the shift firmness to 25% firmer. Can tell a slight difference there. Will probably have to wait till next summer to really...
Unfortunately you seem to be right RI-Matt. They apparently have stopped making these interior paints some years ago since there are so few people like us who want to keep our vehicles looking like new.
I did find that "TCP Global " will mix up a pint of interior paint for $50.00 plus...
No, Brand new Expedition. I have been aware that certain plastic interior parts do have a color coating or paint. Just a couple of minor scuffs but would like to eliminate.
From the research I have done, it is much like Ford wheels. No color codes and no touch up paint available.
If anyone...
Unlike the vinyl / plastic parts on my 2000 expedition which were color thru, the plastic parts in the cargo area of my 2011 seem to have a painted type of finish on them which can scuff or can be scrapped off.
Does anyone know if there is a touch up paint available for the Camel interior...
I thought I saw the thread on this forum but can't find it now, but thanks to those who posted the adjustment procedure for adjusting the head rest back to a much more comfortable position.
Bending the rods took some effort but well worth it. Much more comfortable ride.
Especially when...
It looks like I am going to put the Hyper tech in the budget.
Brand New I was getting over 22 MPG on the highway with the truck empty. Very happy with that. Towing a 4500 lb boat 1800 miles I got 14.5 MPG and I was very, very happy with that.
These 6 speed trans sure do feel different than...
Thank you guys so much, especially the ones with the later models like mine. Did all of you go with the premium tune ?? I would have to get considerable better mileage to offset the cost of the premium.
Just wanting to know what experiences any of you might have with these items. Are they really worth it ?? Hypertech says 36 more HP on my 2011. For any who have done it, can you really feel a difference ?? And what about gas mileage ??
For me it's a lot of money if I really can't tell...
Sorry I did not get back to you sooner. I am really glad the fuse fixed it for you. I found my problem right away when I got mine home from the dealer and found the circuit and also found the fuse blown. My difference was when you put a new fuse in, it would immediately blow.
After...
Cobra, I had a similar issue with my new 2011. Check and see if your light in the glove box is working ?? How about Sun Visor mirror lights. All three of those are on one fuse.
If your glove box works as well as the visor lights, then yours would be different than mine.
If that circuit is...
After doing some research I have answered my own question. Trans has Synthetic fluid and does not need service till 100K miles, Which means I will do it at 50K. Small dip stick on side of trans. Full dip stick is available in after market which I will eventually get.
I have not been able to get my Ford Manuals yet so I was wondering -
Since my 2011 XLT does not have a dip stick on the Trans. When you drop the pan to change fluid and filter, How do you put fluid back in ??
And is there anyone who makes a kit to replace pan with one which has the dip...
You have been lucky Freeway. Living in a warm climate helps as well. I could have a brand new battery and if my 2000 Expedition sat for more than a few days in below freezing temps (unemployed) battery would be dead. Summer no issue.
My 2007 Mustang Gt cannot go much more than a couple weeks...
It is my understanding that the AC system is all one system. Refrigerant circulates from front too rear. So if you recharged under the hood, you did the rear as well.
Don't need any more drain on the battery than it already has. With all the computer functions running in the background on these cars and trucks nowdays, if you don't drive them often enough, you get a dead battery.
