As long as the maintenance is up to date, and was done on a regular schedule, these vehicles can last a long time. Spark plugs/COPs, rear AC blower motor, and hood and rear hatch corrosion are the problems that occur most often. Infrequently the throttle body needs to be replaced if there is...
Something simple to check is the center cap of the rim. Sometimes those have a tendency to creak a little. Could be bearing, something stuck on the brakes/pad also. If not that, you will have to get into the hub or axle and see what's up.
Swap the #6 coil with one from another cylinder and see if the code moves to the other cylinder. If so, the COP is bad (even new ones can be bad). If not, check the electrical connection to see if there are bad wires or a bad connector/clip.
Do you have radio controls on the rear of the center console, and the headunit that has the button to control the rear dvd sound distribution? If not, I would look aftermarket as the unit gets it's power from the head unit and is actually routed through the center console controls.
I would get...
Pics in the corners on the top banner. I don't have any album pics either as I upload the pics from Photobucket into the threads. Kind of why I was a bit surprised, but not disappointed.
While I was browsing on the forum last night, my son is looking over my shoulder and says "That looks like your car dad." I looked at the banner on top of the page and agreed with him. Upon further inspection, I could see my neighbor's house through the windows of the Expy and realized it WAS...
COPs or fuel pump/relay sounds likely, but Cops would throw a code though. I would go to an Auto Zone, Pep boys, Advance Auto or the like and still try to get the codes read. Maybe the SES/CEL light is malfunctioning.
Transmission sounds unlikely, but if it does it again, try to put the...
A shift kit is preferable to a line pressure increase via a handheld tuner. It actually will help reduce tranny wear as the internal clutch/plate will have less slippage. It reduces the duration of the shift so they don't feel like mush. It will usually give you a nice snap in the shifts...
Agreed that Stabil or another stabilizer is a necessity with Ethanol fuels. Ethanol attracts water horribly and can reek havoc on the fuel system. If storing a vehicle running with ethanol fuel, it's best to keep a full tank so there is less area for water to condensate on the tank and top of...
Considering the OEM nav units are a $2000 option and you probably aren't wired for it, I would go aftermarket. You can get a hell of a unit for $1000, or shop around and get a cheaper unit that works pretty well for less. I got my Kenwood of of craigslist for $400, where the retail was around $900.
A loose plug can tick a bit, so you can check that. The PCV wouldn't tick, but always a good idea to check to see it isn't gummed up.
As far as the pump, check all the fuses, relays, and corresponding connections at the panel, and try to trace them to the pump. You might see a frayed/burnt...
This sounds like a fuel pump too,not plugs. Intermittent pump issues can be hard to trace as it has to happen when you are testing it. I would check all the wires/plugs to the pump and see if they are loose or corroded first, then check the pump.
The ticking could be a loose manifold, but...
First thing that comes to mind is the fuel pump, but the ticking noise confuses me a bit. Where is the ticking coming from? Engine compartment, or under the vehicle? Does it tick when in neutral and you give it gas?
Who replaced the Trans, a shop or you? If a shop they should warranty it. If not, it sounds as if you may be replacing it again. The only way to tell how much work it would be to rebuild it is to drop it and take a look. Sorry to say, but it's never a good thing when you hear grinding from...
The COP (Coil on Plug) can be bad out of the box if new, but unlikely. Did you use new ones, or the old ones? I would change the plug and cop and see if that helps. Also, check the electrical connector for the COP and see if it is properly connected, and not crimped.
