70k on plugs is quite a bit, I would def change them, you will probable get better millage than before if that is the cause.
If that's not the cause, like other said check for rolling resistance.
I have an 09, We upgraded to a 17 Ecoboost and here are my thoughts.
For an 07 $12k seems VERY steep, sure its low mileage and clean, but its still an almost 20 year old truck. During my search there is not a huge market for these massive family haulers here making them even less. . . .
The 07...
You could spend about $3k or $4k to fix all the issues and have a nice driving reliable truck.
Or you could go and buy a newer truck, that's what we did with our 09 with 240K miles on it. Just too much going on to justify dumping $ into it.
Check your pinion on the rear differential.
Chock the wheels!!!!!
First check to see if its tight with zero up, down, left and right play. After that you can remove the drive shaft with the tires off the ground and feel it by hand. Check the rotation for smoothness.
We have an 09 that's been ok, not great really. Sitting at 240K miles right now.
The usual wear items have been replaced, all struts, ball joints and bushings. Timing chain tensioners and high volume oil pump was done at 180k miles. Over the years I have put a lot of parts on it. I had a low...
For trans type you might need to reach out to the dealer and give them your vin, sounds like your year was around the transition from 6R75 to 80.
So if you removed the filter you need to double check the seal. I would also never reuse a filter especially that seal on the filter because they get...
Here are some alternatives.
you can buy a catted down pipe from performance places for $1000 and bolt it in.
You can go to a junk yard and buy a stock replacement for cheaper.
You can buy 2 high flow Flowmaster cats for $100 each and have an exhaust shop weld them in.
or you can go the cut...
If it was working fine blowing cold I would just change the clutch if you can get it cheap enough. plenty of room to do it in there so you don't have to break the system open.
If your AC was weak and just kinda meh, I would replace the whole thing. I would get a Motorcraft if you can since you...
A failing thermostat that's not opening all the way will do exactly that. The thermostat is designed to open at a specific temperature so if your gauge is seeing 205 your thermostat is also seeing that same 205.
Other causes could be more slipping could be happening due to the clean fluid, that...
It's not a fluid issue, the 6R80 has a built in thermostat, remove it and it will never see 170 degrees. Not sure why it changed with new fluid, but my guess is its thermostat related.
I'm not sure looking at the service record they don't say specifically when it was done, but its been serviced at the dealer and the brake master is shiny white new. I just called and they said it does have the recall, so I'm not sure if it needs to be done again.
Hello there,
I don't have any wiring diagrams or anything. I would check all of your grounds, with this being a 5v issue I would check the connections at the PCM. I would pull the connections and clean gently with electrical cleaner and dry compressed air (or canned air) if you dont want to...
You can check McMaster.com they have a ton of stuff. you will need to know the size and material, but its air so doesn't need to be anything special.

Generally if you tap the throttle and it instantly gets quieter its not an exhaust leak, it generally takes time for things to swell and seal. Its really hard to tell what could be happening without hearing it, a video would help.
Only thing I can think of if its not an exhaust leak is the cold...
Ya we were going to look at an 18 Max but they were still detailing it and we were not able to. I agree with the looks, the 3rd gen still looks more like a truck, definitely prefer this over the the gen4
Interesting, sounds like we might have dodged a bullet then maybe. Didn't realize there...
I mean, if you want to turn a $30 job into a $430 job because you don't want to go back to the top of the engine to swap a coil out in 10 minutes :hahano:. . . Spark plugs are one of, if not the most neglected consumables on cars. I'm all for a water pump or some hard to get to part if your in...
Just got my 3.5 not too long ago so I cant answer to the remove question. I would say be careful what you spray on there as it can react with the rubber on the coils. Also, its VERY uncommon for coils to go out, I would toss the plugs in with the old coils and see if you can save some money.
Well, our 09 is getting up there in millage and I have put a bunch of new parts on it and it drives great, but I wanted to get the wife into someone a little newer with more creature comforts. Most importantly, its WHITE thank goodness!!!!! Makes a big difference in AZ with the 110 degree...
Check your blend doors, but 84 PSI on the low side means there is something wrong, it should be 55psi max.
Go to the auto parts store and rent some gauges (its free) and get your high and low side pressure.
If both pressures are high the system is over charged
If the low pressure is high...
I would get a good used one off of car-part.com they are generally better than any of the remans.
I have one I can sell you cheap if it will fit and you are interested. It came of an 09 truck with 130k miles, turns out it wasn't my issue.
