I just had the HD auxiliary tranny cooler installed by a mechanic. 65,000 miles on the vehicle and when we bought it there were about 37,000. In the past, I pulled a 3,500 lb trailer up steep grades during the summer and watched the tranny temp hit 238 degrees! Mechanic said the transmission...
Costco has 6 quarts of Mobil One Full Synthetic for $28. Much cheaper than buying a 5 quart jug plus 1 pricey individual quart.
Gonna be a while until I need to change the oil but I couldn’t pass up the price!
I love our Equalizer Hitch. Bought it when we had the Honda Odyssey and the 350 lb tongue weight just squashed it. Made a huge difference until I had one wheel off the road / one on while pulling next to the dump. The axle looked wayyy over-loaded plus the Odyssey had 160,000 miles on it. Sold...
We bought our 2016 XLT with close to 37,000 miles on it - lease turn in. Very clean when purchased. The cold start rumbling idle - until it is warm is a minor issue. My only annoyance is with how hot the transmission gets while towing. Our Expy doesn't have the HD radiator or auxiliary...
I was referring to the right rear muffler and it turns out it isn’t the hanger. It is the muffler heat shield rubbing against the spare tire cage. Looks like I just need to bend the heat shield a bit and the squeaking will go away. I held the tire cage out of the way and no more noise.
Poor...
When it's not 95 degrees outside I'll take a picture. Before the recent rafting trip I squirted silicon lube up around the bracket and that helped for the trip out to Kern. Muffler or tailpipe hanger may be a better description. When the muffler isn't hot then I can push on it and it squeaks.
Good idea on the Amazon purchase. We don’t have any trips planned soon but I’ll pick up the Fit system 3391s for our next trip. It would nice to see the trailer other than when I’m making a turn.
Our 2016 muffler squeaks with the slightest movement of the Expy I see eBay has a 2-3 pack of rubber brackets for $12 or so. Just pushing on the Expy causes the muffler to squeak.
Anybody replaced the bracket? Straight forward or a pain?
Update: the Expy is the wife's car so I rarely drive it. Last night was a cold start. Rough bouncy idle upon startup before smoothing out after a minute or two.
A year ago I had the rough idle on startup and it wouldn't let me inch along while backing the trailer into our garage. I wasted $150 at the dealership because they told me the TB was dirty and needed to be cleaned-for an additional $350. I said no thanks and cleaned the TB, replaced the air...
I ordered one of those $20 CDs off eBAY. We shall see if it helps. I'd like to add the auxiliary transmission cooler myself but if I have to take off the bumper and lights then I'd like step by step directions. I've waited this long - I can wait and see if the CD is any good. Seems like...
In my 2016 owners manual under fuse specification chart I believe it is the #48 40 amp fuse. If it doesn't have a fuse then you'll need to get one and just remember to get the low profile fuses. Remarkably easy to run a line back to the trailer hitch.

I put the Expy up on ramps, made sure I could reach the filter, loosened it a little just to be sure I could and then I loosened the drain bolt very slowly. I let it drain for a bit before I opened up the cap on the top...
The only videos I found were for the Expedition EL and its drain bolt location is in a different location than mine.

My mechanic is an incredibly kind and honest gentleman. Yesterday, after the usual complaints about being asked to take her Expy to the mechanic, the wife took it in only to find out that his lift just blew a hose. He was nice enough to crawl under the Expy and mark the bolt with a yellow...
A few years ago we took our Odyssey (replaced by the Expy) to a couple of the coupon cheap oil change places. Next thing I know oil is dripping on the driveway. Took the Odyssey to our mechanic only to find that the drain bolt had been over-tightened and the threads in the oil pan stripped...
@MuddySpokes
Thank you for the tip about the bolt being near the back support bar on the passenger side. I spotted a bolt with a blue mark near it. Maybe I’ll give it another try.
Any idea why the skid plate says “do not remove for oil change” printed on it? From other pictures and videos the drain pan bolt might be plastic and at the front of the vehicle. I’ll crawl back under there tonight with a flashlight.
I have a side grab oil filter wrench so I was willing to take a shot at it. My Scion Xa is idiot proof for changing the oil though I seem to get it running down my arm when I remove the filter.
On the Expy there are the two rubber squares (only one still on the Expy) that I removed and there are...
