Maybe your credit limit on your card is too low? (Just did a fill up with a 'low fuel' light. Bye, bye, Benjamin Franklin! Eff me!)

What did you do to the expy today

Turned what was a touring machine from the factory into a towing machine for my boat, and occasionally my car hauler. (Class III hitch, Aux cooler from the junkyard, 7-pin OEM harness and plug from the junkyard).

scored again.... but with amazon lol

Lovin' me the Amazon today as well. Ordered a Curt Class III hitch Monday morning, delivered Tuesday afternoon, installed this morning in 15 minutes, and it is a sexy beast (round, bent tube so it is mostly hidden by the bumper). $156.90, free shipping, no tax for the governor!

Clicking sound from the rear tire?

I just went through this with mine. Clicks are irregular, not 180 degrees out of phase, more like two clicks then a pause? Next time you hear them at slow speed, slowly feed in your parking brake and see if they go away. If so, good chance the braking material has broken loose from the...

Aux Input to a Stock 2006 Expy Nav Unit w/o DVD

I just looked at the wiring diagram for one with Nav, same pinout for the CD changer as I posted in the image above. Have fun, I use mine everyday to stream music from across the country!

    Odometer, tripometer!

Known issue, at least for 1st Gen. You can remove the instrument cluster and and fix the cracked solder that causes this, search for "expedition odometer blackout fix".

    Chasing Intermittent Vibration/Rumble - 2002 Expedition

Well, took a file to the flanges and made them flat and shiny. Bead blasted the bolts to make sure the loc-tite had a good surface to bond to, and then re-installed the front drive shaft. Correctly. As in not backwards, like it was (I now know) when I took it off. :banghead: Yep...

    Chasing Intermittent Vibration/Rumble - 2002 Expedition

Okay, started some troubleshooting on mine: did a drain and fill on the differentials and transfer case, no change. Dropped the tires to 20psi, no change. Pumped them to 45psi, no change. Went to pull the front drive shaft to isolate the axles and HEY those bolts on the transfer case side of...

Well, crap. And I thought I just had some noisy tires.

    Looking for shift lever.

Well the one I see in the link I provided looks like it has a button of some sort on the end, and they give you a little window to see the o/d off light, so you would think it retains the functionality. I could not come up with an easy way to do a button on the end of the one I made, so I just...

    Looking for shift lever.

I acutally ended up making my own out of stainless stock to get some practice on my Uncle's lathe & milling machine, but this is what I used as a guide: http://mothersperformance.com/i-6240978-automatic-shifter-handle-cover-5404-all-sales-mothers-performance.html

    Looking for shift lever.

I had that problem on my F150. They make chrome covers that slide over the end. Much faster and relatively cheap fix.

    Got My Expy..

Enjoy the New2Youi! Just so happens I have been researching A4WD most of today, because I started to think what I call 'noisy tires' might be something else. After pulling a fuse, I am pretty sure it is just the tires. But in the process, i discovered the "Brown Wire Mod" that allows us to...

    looking to buy 2000 Expedition

The metal input shaft coming out of the transmission that goes into the neutral safety switch tends to get rusty, which makes it's diameter increase, which binds the plastic of the safety switch, making shifting difficult. A new neutral safety switch is around $50 (count the number of bolts...

    1998 5.4L EB 247K to 67K swap

Good luck with that, I recently swapped my 268k 1997 5.4 for an 82k 2000 5.4. But I did it the lazy way, by getting everything else attached (my new to me EB!) And the 97 isn't seized, so I still drive it! :smoke2:

    Subwoofer replacement

See, that's just it: the plugs match, the only difference being the four wire output on the newer sub woofer. It seems it takes a two wire input, and ports out either two wires (OEM setup on my 2000 Expo) or four wires (what I found on the Explorer sub woofer). So I think the OEM amp on my...

    Subwoofer replacement

Putting this here for someone who may search the forum like I did. My new to me 2000 with the Mach sound system had a crackle at high volume. While replacing the right second row seat belt, I took a look at the sub woofer and saw the cone had started to fall apart. Searched here for some...

    Thankful New Owner

So my 97 F250LD was not responsive when I did some pre-snow checks of the 4x4 ESOF last month. Don't know why, it only has 268,000 miles on it! And earlier this year I parted / scrapped the '96 Explorer with 214,000 miles. Knowing from previous experience the ESOF is no fun to work on, I decided...

Aux Input to a Stock 2006 Expy Nav Unit w/o DVD

Resurrecting, I know, but gotta say thanks to TheValleyBoy, as this became the answer when I googled 'Expedition aux input'! Just finished and road tested my setup, it's nice when a soldering job works the first time! My improvement to the process, only because I had some lettering sitting in...
