As soon as it stops raining I'm going to fill up with 101 octane and see if there's any difference from the 91 octane times. I kind of hope there is no difference so I won't be tempted to always fill up on 101 (a few 76 gas stations have 101 where I live)
That's a great deal especially since you bought the parts from the stealership and paid to have them installed. Is the system still able to get loud since you added more speakers with using an amp?
The highest profile I can run is a 60 series or less due to not being lifted, so do y'all still think I can get on something wider then a 285 with a 60 profile? (on the rim, not whether it will actually fit on the expedition)?
I'm actually surprised a 285 tire will fit on a 7" wide rim. I thought my 8" wide rim was barely wide enough for 285's...maybe I'll go up to 295 next time.
Where did you get your G-timer and for how much? I was trying to find something like that to measure my 0-60 more accurately, but couldn't find anything and ended up just getting a stop watch (amazon.com is out of stock). I initially did these time test to compare the 0-60 time of the 87 tune to...
To me it seems like the electric fan mod has the potential to cause more problems then it is worth, but supposedly the 2010 expeditions come stock with an electric fan
There have been a few posts about reliability and relating topics, so I was wondering... who on this forum has the expedition with the highest mileage on the odometer? Post your mileage and winner gets bragging rights.
I "only" have 121,000 miles so I know I'm not the winner.
Unless you are getting the lightning super charger for super cheap or doing the work yourself, it's going to be cheaper and more beneficial to get an aftermarket supercharger
I have had this on my 03. Make sure you have all your rubber stoppers intact or else the door won't make firm contact when closed and leaves room to wiggle. Even with all the rubber in place I still get door rattle, but only at 80mph+ speeds
That's awesome that you are driving an Expedition in Germany. The problems you have are minor and should not be too hard to fix. Maybe you should look into getting a tuner so it doesn't hit the limiter when driving on the autobahn.
Yeah I'm big on preventive maintenance, and so far it has paid off. Keeping a close eye on tire pressure will not only improve tread wear, but will improve gas mileage as well.
This site has a lot of different polyurethane bushing options... I wanted to buy them all but none fit my Expedition. Anyone know where I can find these for an 03? I already have poly sway bar bushings, but I was interested in the poly control arm, body mounts, and strut bushings.
After reading this article about the myth of electric fans, I am skeptical if adding an electric fan is really any upgrade. The article is based on an RX-7 but I think the same concepts apply. Here are some excerpts from the article:
"What's important to note is that the fan is only used when...
As you can see in my sig I have a 03 XLT, and I’m at about 121,000 miles so pretty close to the expy you are considering buying. I have had over 2,000 pounds of cement bags in the back of my truck a few times and that was when I was around 40,000 miles and it never caused any problems. I haven’t...
Most people that have the 4.6L wish they had gone with the 5.4L. I have the 5.4L and even that is barely enough power for this heavy truck. If you plan on towing or lifting the truck then definitely go with the 5.4L or else experience some serious slowness. The 4.6L may get slightly better...
I had no idea 97/98 came with mirror privacy glass, I have never seen that and I always check out expeditions when they drive by. Now I am going to have to watch a lot closer.
