    Brakes

That doesn't make sense since the point of having drilled rotors is to keep things cooler and it wouldn't make sense for them to produce more heat

    Goodbye Excursion, Hello Expy

How did you lose your Excursion? I wanted a 2003 Excursion but couldn't afford one and also ended up with an Expedition. It really made me mad when they stopped making the Excursion, I know they make an extended expedition now but it's just not the same.

    Brakes

You're right semi-metallics are slightly better then ceramic for stopping power, but they make make more dust, more noise, and don't last as long as ceramics. Ceramics still have better stopping power then normal OEM brakes and have the least brake dust out of any of the choices. Go with...

    Snowplowing with 2007 Ford Expedition

Plowing with such a new truck is just asking for it to get beat up. That's a job for like a 80's F250

anyone use monroe sensa trac shock?

Don't get monroe sensa trac shocks, they are a cheap shock that won't last long or perform well. All the repair shops try to push these because they get them for a low cost and then overcharge the customers. Go with bilstein HD's or the Rancho RS series, I don't know about Rancho but Bilstein's...

    Brakes

I agree that drilled rotors are better then slotted for non-racing applications. I have drilled rotors and have had to do some emergency stops with them and they seem to perform well with no cracking. Go with ceramic pads, you won't ever have to replace them and they greatly reduce brake dust...

    what brands of oil ???

As far as I know the type of oil doesn't have a significant impact on gas mileage, more like engine life... just don't use stuff from the 99 cent store.

    Expy's on 20"s

Yeah eBay is the best place for buying factory rims. I got my 18"x8" chrome rims off a navigator for $500 with new tires on the rims.

    --Best tires--

yeah in a way it's kind of fun because it makes the truck feel like it has a lot more power then it really does. Although it doesn't get traction with the pedal only half way down i think it does a good job of staying in a straight line

    --Best tires--

Maybe it's just my tires and the oily so cal roads, but whenever it rains my tires can't get traction at anything over 50% throttle. Anyone else have this problem? My tires were expensive so I thought they would do better.

Somehow I went past the speed limiter?

How fast were you going at 5k because I'm only at 4k when I hit 100mph?

If the Expedition had the following engine options, which would you choose?

I can't believe how much torque the diesel has, that would be a towing beast. I think it's funny how nobody has voted for the engine the expedition actually comes with. I got my numbers a little mixed up on that one - the 2010 Expedition 5.4 has 310hp and 365lb-ft but the 2010 Raptor's 5.4L has...

If the Expedition had the following engine options, which would you choose?

The 6.2L really does get the same mpg as the 5.4L. Yeah it would be embarassing to say you're sporting a v6, but it does make more hp and better mpg then the 5.4L.. good for people who use it as a family car

    6.2L v8 411 hp 434 lb-ft 14/18 mpg 5.4L v8 320 hp 365 lb-ft 14/18 5.4L v8 supercharged 380hp 450 lb-ft 13/17mpg 3.7L V6 twin turbo charged 340hp 340lb-ft 16/23mpg I forgot to include the diesel in the poll:( (poll fixed by admin 12-23-09) 4.4L Diesel 330 hp 520 lb-ft ~16/22mpg All...

    98 Expy just died

You should get it tuned to take the 93 since you're already used to paying for it.. you will see a nice increase in acceleration.

would you ? or would you not ?

I agree that the reason people sell their car/truck is because it is starting to have issues, so when buying used you have to expect to have a few things to take care of no matter what the manufacturer/make is. Overall the expedition is a reliable truck, and once you get it all fixed up it...

The truck looks great mmrseed, especially for that many miles. Do you guys ditch the running boards so no fat girls can get in?

    98 Expy just died

Putting 93 octane into a car tuned for 87 is going to decrease your gas mileage and decrease your power, so why would you put 93 in (especially when it cost more)? I'm just curious.

    98 Expy just died

Is your ECU tuned to take 93 gas?

Somehow I went past the speed limiter?

After another test, it looks like the custom tune did get rid of it. It's just weird how it pauses at 100 and that's why I thought I still had it. I guess the expedition doesn't have much power at 100+ because it accelerates very slowly past 100. ELVATO or anyone else with their limiter removed...

    2003 rear exterior question

I need to touch up my cladding with some Krylon Fusion too. It seems to start to fade after about 2-3 years, but it has held up well to chipping/peeling. Mine is black and I had to go to 4 dealerships to find it when I bought it, but its frustrating how many scratches show up in the direct...

    Front Brake question

Last time I took my truck in to have new brakes installed they said one of my brakes didn't even have a clip in it (had to pay $75 for a new clip). I never noticed it while driving and I was wondering what the clip does if the brake still functions without it?
