Yeah I still want to go on the 15th... that's a good day for me and I won't be available often after that. I looked at the weather and it's supposed to be sunny all week before friday so I'm thinking it should be pretty dry. Also, aren't we going to be going mostly downhill since we're going...
Awesome find.. thanks. Thats a lot of work to install some tow hooks though. I found some toggle bolts that would fit and they are rated at 5,000lbs each so that'd be 10,000lbs holding strength for 2 bolts in the hook... I wonder how that would work? (saves me from taking apart the bumper)...
The only place that has OEM hooks for the 03 is the ford dealership at $125 for both with hardware, all the places on the web are for the 1st generation, although maybe it's still the same bolt pattern and the info just hasn't been updated? Either way, looking at the frame, I don't see how it's...
Yeah, not right away but eventually I'll get something that is wider and has a taller profile. Not too much difference in ride quality, tires break loose a little easier going around corners.
Yes, it's the place off Enterprise Road. It turns out that it's $160 just to install front spacers because he didn't realize I have IRS even though I told him twice. He was nice though and I ended up getting the spacers installed + alignment for $250 even. The spacers were $280 so it was about...
I just ordered a 30' ARB recovery strap online..I'm trying to find tow hooks for my front. My bumper has the holes and there are screw holes in the frame, but I can only find hooks for 97-02 expedition.
Thanks for all the help.. I ended up finding a place called North County Springs that said they'll do it for $160 plus $80 for alignment, it's in the shop right now so we'll see how it turns out (hopefully they don't try to add on extra charges). Attached are just a few more pre lift pics
Yeah if you hit the right lines you probably won't bottom out at all, well atleast on the first part, we didn't do the second part last time so its conditions are unknown. Like panda said, with 4x4 you shouldn't have any worries though. I'll make sure to get some tow straps, walmart should have...
See the attached pics for the pieces to take off and the final result. Also you can look at the vids on my youtube channel to hear how it sounds.
Also, you can get a new throttle body or throttle body spacer.
Thanks jacks.
Yeah it's a body lift so it'll be interesting to see how much roll I have with the upgraded sway bars. I got the lift in the mail today... I think I'll have a shop install it since I have to take it in to get aligned anyway.
Panda maybe we can do the rest of Anderson on the 15th and then when nvy is back we can go to truck haven?
Tallsville are you still thinking about coming down?
On a side note... I can't wait to get this body lift installed, for 7 years I have been debating whether to lower or lift the...
When I bought my edge programer they gave me a copy of my stock file for free (you just tell them the serial number on the ECU), not sure how much the dealership charges but with the programmer you can do the reflash yourself and also upgrade your timing/shifting.
I'm trying to decide if I should change my serpentine belt. The problem is, I'm all about preventive maintenance, but also I don't like to fix things that aren't broken. My expy has 130k miles on the orginal serpentine belt, but it's 80% freeway cruizing and the belt still looks almost new. I've...
I drive mine like a 350z around corners and would flip it for sure without sway bars (I had a lowered benz before this that didn't know the meaning of roll and got used to cornering at high speeds)
Panda you should be careful if you're getting 1 wheel off the ground, it may feel like you're in...
I asked myself the same question and I thought of it this way... if you're offroading and you get stuck by just barely not clearing something, you're going to be mad at yourself for not getting the extra lift. I figured overall you benefit most from getting the 3" and from what I've read you can...
Yeah autoanything has the cheapest price I can find online, I'm going to call around tomorrow and see what local shops are charging. What would be a reasonable price to pay to have it installed? I build custom computers, let me know if you need any advice.
