Yeah, it's a pretty damn nice ride!! The first time I drove it, I pegged the rev limiter in first and second without trying to. It's a beast with the MT. My wife absolutely loves it, and she's the reason for the MT. She has had 4 BMW's with MT, and we had to special order 2 of them (2005 X3...
I bit the bullet and bought the broken plug removal tool off of amazon for about $60 last year when I did my plugs. Glad I did as 6 of the 8 broke. The plugs at the dealer were $12 each as they price matched what autozone or Advance Auto was selling them for. I can see the impact wrench...
So my wife's car is coming up to the end of the lease, and we needed to replace it. We finally found the needle in the haystack we were looking for (a BMW 550i with sports package and manual transmission) and we had to jump on it earlier than we wanted to. A few weeks ago, the new to us vehicle...
Did the vehicle engine temp get up to normal? If not, thermostat is likely the culprit. If vehicle temp was normal, a blend door or vacuum problem is likely.
Welcome to the site. We just purchased my wife's car sight unseen from California that we found on Autotrader. I hope your transaction and car are as good as our experience.
It's not a coincidence that the vibration occurs at 35-40, then again at 70 as the imbalance in whatever is causing the vibration hits it's frequency to cause it. How are your u-joints? My guess is that it is a rotational force, but could be a heat shield or loose exhaust system component...
Swaybar bushing or end link would be my guess, but could be a ball joint too. End links would be more of a popping sound, the bushings usually get squeaky.
When the CEL light flashes at full throttle and the truck bucks or loses power, it is misfiring. Pull the codes and I'm sure you will have a a P030X, with the X showing which cylinder is missing. Replace that COP and plug, and you should be good to go.
Make sure there is no tension on them and they should come right out. My problem with them was that the nuts were impossible to remove due to rust and location, so I had to cut them out.
That's a big boat to be pulling with an Expy!! Our's was a 24 foot cuddy with a 5.7 Volvo and 2 foot platform, but weighed in at 5000 lbs wet. Trailer got us right at 6000. And as you can see in my sig pic, it dwarfed the Expy. Adding a second engine and a true 28 foot hull, and you are...
Welcome. It sounds as if your blend door for the rear air isn't working. Many posts on here regarding that, and even a "how to" to fix it if you look for it.
When you turn on your AC seats, can you hear a fan come on under the seat?
As far as the window sticker, if you know the originating...
With a HD tranny cooler and a weight dist hitch, you should be good to go. You can only do 6000 lbs and 600 lb tongue weight on the hitch alone, but should be able to go up to 8600 lbs with a WDH.
I also come to the conclusion of a battery being bad. The fact it is taking longer for disconnect times to restart the car makes it sound as if the battery is getting weaker as time goes on.
Thanks for the comments guys. I think I am going to paint the passenger's side this week, and wait until the plastidip needs redoing to redo that.
sgtowing, I will come down and paint yours if you clean and mask off your rims! :Big Laugh:
I added the 3rd row to our old 2005 Explorer. The seat belts shouldn't be a problem as the upper mounts will be behind the trim panels, and the seat anchors will most likely act as the lower anchor point for the buckle (just look at a parts diagram to verify).
As said above, the rear trim...
After 6 years I was getting tired of the stock wheels, so I bought some plastidip and decided to do something other than a complete coat on the wheels. After painstakingly clening and masking off the wheels, here is what I ended up with.
Only got the driver's side done today, but I...
I had my AC recharged this summer, and the technician said that he could stop my fan at idle with his fingers once the vehicle warmed up. He said the clutch was going out, and I should keep an eye on my temp gauge in the meantime. He also mentioned that at a stop/idle, my AC would be a little...
Don't the first gens have a floor height difference between the second and third row? If so, putting a second row seat in the back would need some retrofitting of brackets.
I would leave the "60" seat in the second row, and just put the third row back in. That way you have a pass through to...
^^^^ Make sure both the front controls and the rear controls are set on cold. When the front controls are set to fan speed 2 on second gens, the rear controls actually have full control over the temp and fan settings. Not sure if its the same for 1st gens.
Totally normal. Our trailer did that too, so when I started from a stop, I just let off the brakes until the coupler was fully disengaged/extended before accelerating as to not have a big jerk while starting.
