    Lose a lot of torque and back pressure doing that, so it doesn't surprise me too much that you saw a decrease in mileage, though I wouldn't think it would be significant. That and you probably can't keep the foot out of the loud pedal now... I have that issue with mine.

    You shouldn't have problems doing that. It is my understanding that the trans computer keeps the trans from going to first if speeds are too great, even if it is selected. I would recommend going from D to 2, and then 2 to 1 as the trans completes shifting, but the trans is able to skip gears...

    Agreed, don't know what questions are being asked, but if you ask them then we can probably help. All 97-98's and 03-up have the center axle disconnect (2hi feature).
