Haha yeah that was the point I was trying to illustrate. We were on a trip and didn't know any different until it lost all power and came to a rolling stop.
Did you happen to look at any other gauges while the oil pressure gauge was low? My thinking is that the oil pressure gauge went down...
Agreed, you can always throw the parts away as you find out they are not compatible, but you can't get them back after you send the truck away. Take anything and everything that might be of value. I have seen several people take the front fascia of a 99-02 and bolt it onto the older trucks. I...
Sounds more electrical to me... If the engine died in correlation to no oil pressure, chances are slim in my opinion that it would start up and run like nothing ever happened haha. Usually if you cook a bearing you'll know.
Still I agree with your next move to check the oil. Run a magnet...
For some reason, 87 octane winter gasoline runs awful in my truck. I am lucky if I see 6-7 mpg's. It is probably due to my O2 sensors not reading correctly but not really sure. I switch to 89 in the winter and go right back to my normal of around 11-13 mpg's. Summer 87 gets me those same...
Drove her to work (also in the rain). She was really running rough today, most likely due to water getting past the boots and causing some misfires. She runs fine in dry weather. I got sick of the delay in acceleration and choppy idle on the way to work, one 4500k pull and she was running...
I agree. I was hoping you would just imagine the Limited Expy with tan trim haha. I agree with Freeway that it isn't going to be a subtle change, but chrome on anything but the rims is not attractive to me, so getting rid of it is always a good option in my book. But it isn't going to be...
Lose a lot of torque and back pressure doing that, so it doesn't surprise me too much that you saw a decrease in mileage, though I wouldn't think it would be significant. That and you probably can't keep the foot out of the loud pedal now... I have that issue with mine.
I would not do that if you can help it. I read of a guy that removed the front driveshaft in order to do burnouts of all things. After smoking the rear tires (truck still in A4WD) he posted up a question wondering why his transfer case had cracked into two pieces...
I am guessing even though...
Mine have been bad since I started driving the truck 5 years ago! Push the pedal in and nothing changes. Probably just need to be adjusted, but I have never been worried about the truck rolling down a hill so I just haven't messed with it. I know probably not the safest or wisest, but I rarely...
Pretty sure they are. I want to say I tested one from a 01 on my door at a junkyard to help narrow down a window issue and all functions (except for the window I was trying to fix) worked fine on the switch. Make sure the new switch doesn't have any more or less buttons than yours and...
Holy crap, well I will say at least you admit your mistakes, and trust me we have all made them. I almost had a front tire fly off because I did not properly tighten my wheel hub bolts back up after making a repair... S*** happens. I would guess the wobble is a really bad wheel hub. It could...
I kind of agree. Plenty of people post one post and disappear with their answer. Nothing wrong with that in my opinion. Just less usernames I have to remember haha.
I will say that if you're carpet is stained or something, you could do weather mats from Weathertech. Probably going to cost...
It does have a vent, but I am not 100% where it is. If no one answers your question by tonight, I can crawl under my truck and find out (I am out of town and away from my vehicle).
This is an answer to question 2: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_yQ8QuY6kLU
You are making a worthwhile investment for sure. Mine is nearly at 230k on original motor and trans, my aunt has a 98 at 270k on original motor (think it might have had some trans work) and countless other 97-02's that are running forever. I'm sure it sucks putting all this money into the...
You shouldn't have problems doing that. It is my understanding that the trans computer keeps the trans from going to first if speeds are too great, even if it is selected. I would recommend going from D to 2, and then 2 to 1 as the trans completes shifting, but the trans is able to skip gears...
Agreed, don't know what questions are being asked, but if you ask them then we can probably help. All 97-98's and 03-up have the center axle disconnect (2hi feature).
