Offset and Backspacing Explained - PerformanceTrucks.net Forums
This should help. I can never remember how it all works but that will allow you to find out if it will fit properly. The info you posted does say you can contact them, so maybe give that a shot too.
I think any of the metal or composite spacers on ebay are ok. I have seen folks using both on here and no one has said to stay away from one or the other. Just google your model and desired height and pick a set that fits the budget.
If there was oil (actually more likely grease) then the CV boot is probably ripped somewhere and sprayed it all over. I had the same problem with mine shortly after replacing them. Basically the metal clamp on the boot broke off and let the grease spray all over the suspension and tire. Start...
Agreed never wash these engines. If water gets past the boot, the spark grounds to the block instead of through the plug. Try to go on a long drive and see if the water will evaporate.
I would agree that it does sound a bit like CV axles. Usually if you drive in sharp circles in one direction, you will hear the grinding and feel a pop. That is a tell-tale sign of CV axles. With the tire on, push and pull the tire in and out first with your hands at 12 and 6 on the tire to...
OK just need some clarification. It is grinding while slowing down, and also when you turn your wheels? Or it only grinds while braking and turning the wheels at the same time?
When I think of grinding, it usually is bad brake pads. Its a deep metal on metal sound. Bad ball joints tend to...
I have seen people running 315's on the third gens but not 325. If no one else chimes in, my best recommendation to you is turn your wheels to full lock and measure how much distance the wheel has from anything it might touch. If that total is less than 25mm (325-305+5mm clearance) then the...
It's a lot easier than you would think. Few bolts to drop the tank down, and then a few screws to pull out the old pump. Just have to have the will to give it a shot.

That's interesting. I get a bad tick on my driver's side too that sounds like valve noise. Look for broken studs along the manifold. Very common cause for exhaust leaks. Also the two bolts that connect the manifold to the cats have been problem children for me.
Whew I skimmed through that, sorry. Alright so the parts made for towing refers to the external transmission cooler more than anything. I have one in my truck and have 225k on the original trans. Heat is a transmission's enemy, so keeping it as cool as possible will let it run as long as...
I've seen a couple that were powder coated to match the color of the truck. Look pretty nice. I don't think the tube gets too hot, so any paint approved for plastic should work fine. Run your truck to operating temp and check the current intake to see if it gets hot in spots, just don't burn...
Well I replaced the entire PCV assembly from the valve cover to the back of the intake. It was a bit tough cause you cannot see what you are doing due to the cowl, it is all by feel, but it isn't too hard unless you have big hands. If the noise goes away then that is probably the issue, or at...
My guess is that the airbags would level the truck for better appearance. Obviously they no longer do that so now you just have some natural rake from the standard parts due to the engine weight, towing considerations, etc. I think the parts are probably right, its just a different look. You...
I did it with a key fob I ordered online with my truck. I can't remember how it all went but there are many how-to's on google. Don't pay out a dime to have it set up, took me five minutes and was really easy.
If it were incorrectly timed you could get valve to piston contact, which would not allow the engine to turn over. If you had no compression on a cylinder, it would still allow for the engine to turn over, so I do not think that in particular would cause the issue, though it is an issue in itself.
I never did that when I replaced my master cylinder. Only bled the cylinder itself. Like I said I didn't mean to insult you, its hard to convey that typing sometimes. We have several Expeditions in my family, and two of them have needed the master cylinder to be replaced. I have never worked...
Samrider777 did something like that, but his truck is huge and I would imagine not very practical for a daily driver. What do you plan to gain from the solid axle swap that the IFS does not give you?
I don't remember my PCV being that fat haha. I think that might be some kind of heat cover over the actual hose but they could have changed the design to a larger diameter between model years. Try spraying WD-40 or carb fluid in small amounts along the hose. If the revs jump up, there is a...
Holy crap, whatever that is, it does not sound good. What year is the vehicle? I just don't even know what would be spinning fast enough at idle to cause a noise like that. Does it change pitch when the engine revs or stay about the same?
Like I said, if the ABS fuse is pulled, the system is completely disabled and therefore not having any input into the braking process. So bypassing the ABS would be categorized to me as just throwing parts at it. Not trying to be mean, just trying to clarify. If the ABS is disabled, the wheel...
I would replace the master cylinder. Sounds like the seal inside of the cylinder has gone bad allowing for mushy brake feel. I had the same issues and replaced the master cylinder, made a world of difference.
Just make sure to bench bleed the new cylinder before putting it in. If you still...
