Do you submerge your rear axle when launching??
I may get my rear tires in the water occasionally on a shallow ramp but never so deep that the axle is submerged. My boat is generally completely afloat long before that point. My 2000 also has the vent line run well above the differential to...
Qouted from owners manual :
"Your vehicle’s rear axle is filled with a synthetic rear axle lubricant and
is considered lubricated for life. These lubricants are not to be checked
or changed unless a leak is suspected, service is required or the axle has
been submerged in water. The axle...
You have a vision of something 'narrower' and more appealing in your mind but unless you can display your idea it would be impossible to answer. It becomes subjective whether narrow looks more pleasing aesthetically.
But still doubt most would be willing to give up space in the large SUV...
:Big Laugh:
It's possible that the air/fuel ratio was off due to the miss and it took a while to adapt. It can/will misfire if air/fuel ratio is off by too much.
Or maybe you just needed to blow the carbon out?! Works for me.. lol......
I doubt many change the rear diff fluid since it is supposedly lubed for life.
I believe your owners manual calls for 75w-140 synthetic for the 9.75 limited slip but you should verify. There are 2 different weight oils spec'd for the rear depending on what you have. You also do need the...
I wonder what became of it ?! The last post is over 18 months old..
Very thorough job and looks great! I would just add blower to it.. :) The 5.0 coyote breathes very well.
Think a 4wd expy would have been more fun but likely much more costly/ troublesome to adapt to the 5.0 coyote.
You need an air compressor to use a leakdown tester. It may or may not show up during the test as combustion pressures are significantly higher than the 100 psi or so you run during the test. Depends on how bad she is leaking.
If it does leak it will show up as bubbles in the coolant as your...
How does reducing interior space improve exterior design?
In any case one of the things I like most about the Expedition is the large interior space otherwise I would be driving something that is much more fuel efficient.
Think I broke something in the rear when I drove off. Got several feet out and large bang from the rear.
Stopped and investigated... could see nothing. Carefully drove off and all seems normal. Considered that my parking or rear disc brake was locked up but not sure at this point. My guess...
You might try replacing your radiator cap, flush the system as mentioned and make sure you have adequate expansion space as marked on your coolant bottle. Make sure you use the correct coolant ratio as well.
I might suspect the thermostat or waterpump as a potential source of excessive...
Leaky head gasket does not necessarily mean you will get coolant into the oil. I have blown enough head gaskets in the past via aggressive tuning and boost to know this well. Only in more advanced cases does it leak bad enough to introduce coolant into the oil. In extreme cases you can hydraulic...
It is the simpliest non-intrusive way to disable A4wd and is the easiest option.
I always understood it to disable all 4wd functions but guess this may not be evident to all. So it may be good to point this out in the future.
But as said if you want 4wd you simply re-install. I do it all...
Yep..
Controlled vacuum leak via the pvc system. Un-metered air entering the intake creates lean condition. Generally the pcv pulls air through the engine via a "fresh air" hose attached to the opposite valve cover. This gets it air after the mass air meter so it is "metered air". With the...
If I were to use only mine to judge I would say they rate poorly.
Radiator support, inside bottom of doors, undercarriage of body itself, lower control arms are all areas where I have issues. Mine did appear to have zero rust proofing or any sort of undercoating. The frame itself is in good...
:welcome:
Wow...
Had Vortech S-trim on my 89 LX Mustang. What's interesting is I purchased a used J-trim mondo kit for it but ultimately decided against installing it due to the limitations of the "stock" block so I ended up selling it.
The stang is now sold as well. :(
The J-trim should...
