Since you like the look of the OEM radio, want to add an aux input and want to gain space in your center console...I would recommend removing the CD changer and connecting an adapter to its wiring to use it as an aux input. Check out companies like Pacific Accessory Corporation or Precision...
I'd recommend you replace the air filter, too. Have you thrown any codes? If it is hesitating I would expect a code to show up sooner or later. Chances are it will say its a misfire in one of the cylinders. If that is the case, it is usually the COP assembly; they tend to go out after 100K...
It sounds like you had an electrical short somewhere. That is why fuses were blowing. I'm guessing you eventually fried your stock radio, possibly by not fixing the short and using to large of a fuse as a replacement.. Hindsight is 20/20, but it is definitely worth buying a $5 radio harness...
1. With a 3" body lift on a first gen 4x4, you should be able to fit 35s. Trimming to the front lower valance will probably be required. 8" wide wheels with 4.5" of backspacing would be your best bet for minimal trimming.
2. Someone else here has removed the carpet and used truck bedliner...
It is pretty common for the first generation Expeditions to have exhaust leaks at the exhaust manifold. It is usually due to broken bolts, but could also be from warped manifolds.
No, I don't think so. They are lights that illuminate the ground under the doors so you can see where you are stepping when getting in/out of the truck. That way, you don't step in a puddle.
Thanks, but I know it is not that.
The issue is with the wiring from the final connector in the harness to the bulbs.
If anyone has opened up this area, they will know what I'm talking about.
It is the section of wire that is like a metal ribbon, which has cracks and wrinkles now. Not sure...
I've had friends buy from this place or their ebay store.
They were happy with their product. Check it out.

I'd say go with LEDs instead of neon. Safer, stronger, less voltage draw, more versatility/options, brighter...
I'll start by saying I have no experience with custom exhaust, but I'll offer my two cents...
I don't think the shop owner was bs'ing you. I'm sure he'd rather make more money on the job, but would rather have a happy customer. Also, vehicles are designed to run with some backpressure and...
It's been said, but here's my list:
Rust - Bottom of door seams, rear trailing arms, radiator support, quarter panel fenders
Front Sway Bar Linkage - often goes 'missing' (rusts away?)
Upper & Lower Ball Joints - Front suspension wears out quickly, most people don't replace before...
You might be able to separate the 'chrome' plastic covers from the aluminum wheels.
I'm pretty sure they are just held on with an adhesive. I don't want to tell you to start prying, but maybe there is a way. Perhaps heat the wheels to melt the glue?
If you can get the covers off, I'm pretty...
Thanks for the welcome, guys.
It's a shame about the other site...
I've been a member there since 2007. Sure it has had its ups and downs, but it is too bad everyone just up and left at once like that. There is a hell of a lot of info over there. I hope we can build this one up just as...
