    2023 Ordering Timeline Thread

After posting the previous note about the podcast, I checked my email and found the dreaded note from Ford saying stay tuned, we will contact you again within 45 days about when we might actually have all the pieces we need to actually build your Expy. Starting to feel like I should have jumped...

Heater hose under cam phaser recall?

Be sure to make the case that they only noticed the issue AFTER working on that, that it had never been a problem until they worked in the area.

    2023 Ordering Timeline Thread

Interesting information on the Ford Video Guy podcast this week. Expy production has a bunch of potential and actual scheduled feature deletions coming up. Perhaps the most important: 1) The foot operated lliftgate activation option is deleted for 2023. So this is why those of us that ordered...

    Map update

I don't know of any manufacturer that provides ongoing map updates forever, it is yet another profit center for them just like maintenance work. Ford advertises 3 years of updates when you buy a new vehicle, so a 2019 would be out of that time now. So you are probably not getting new updates...

    2023 Expedition

Well, there is your problem. Ford does not have parts to build Expys without the HD tow option until Feb/March. Add the HD tow and it will likely move in. There are numerous other posts around about that. Plus your dealer should have that information and be able to tell you that.

    SSM 50994 2022 Expedition + Other Models - Blank/Inoperative Information And Entertainment Screen - DTC B108E:01 - August 3, 2022

That is the one thing I am a little concerned about after reading all of these reports recently - I ordered my 2023 with the big screen and I am hoping that it does not die leaving me with no control over the HVAC systems. The rest of it as you point out is also available on cell phones today...

    2023 Ordering Timeline Thread

There is finally a change in the inquiry display for my order - instead of just saying "In Production", there is now the date (12/3/2022) by the In Production point of the timeline. It started showing in production 10 days ago. I guess I should start clearing out the other side of the garage....

    '22 Limited Max - 6000 mile recap.

That sounds very reasonable. I have noted the same thing in other vehicles as well - milage seems to get significantly worse above 70 MPH. That is borne out by physics as the power required to move an object through air is proportional to the cube of the velocity. So it starts to take a lot of...

Lifting 2016 platinum with air and ccd

Did you document what you had to do to get the title converted into something you could insure and drive on the street? I know others might be interested in that - there have been a couple of posts from people that were interested in salvage Expys recently.

    2023 ORDER UPDATE

See this thread (and consider continuing your comments there...): https://www.expeditionforum.com/threads/2023-ordering-timeline-thread.51990/ If you did not order the HD Tow option, that is the reason you are being delayed.

    2023 Ordering Timeline Thread

There are multiple posts in this forum including a separate thread dedicated to it that any Expedition order without the HD tow package will be delayed until spring due to a parts shortage. Have your dealer add the HD tow and it should move along, unless there is something else that has not yet...

    2022 Stealth Sport Mode

Either option should be fine. If you are planning to exercise the throttle hard, 4A will provide better acceleration with less risk of losing traction. This is not a sports car that reacts well to forcing oversteer with the right foot.

    2023 Ordering Timeline Thread

I have found a couple of sources today that indicate the first 2023's will be produced tomorrow, 11/29. I am kind of torn trying to decide if a day one build will be a good thing (more scrutiny and care) or a bad thing (they don't know how to build them yet). Since it is virtually identical to...

    Cam phaser DIY Experience

I worked for a large corporation through the 18980s and 1990s. Coming into that period, corporations focused on employees and customers. They realized that those two groups were their llifeblood - creating and then selling goods and services and supporting things that went wrong. Some time...

    Ford Dealer Comparative Service Pricing

And yet, I have never had a service writer suggest that he would rather have me go elsewhere for warranty work. Not sure how to reconcile that, except they are sales critters and the job of a sales critter is to sell.

    Ford Dealer Comparative Service Pricing

That savings will come close to paying the gas for a trip to see the family! I think I would politely ask him why the prices were so much higher at his dealership than the other quote. Perhaps he has some additional things he is doing that they did not include in TX? The air filter difference...

    Tire Weight

Thanks. I am a fan of firm suspensions and have driven trucks before so I am not really too concerned about it. There is a Discount Tire about 4 miles from my house, so I will ask them when ready to do it. At this point my Expy is not even built and we have not settled on a trailer, so this...

    Tire Weight

Thanks Jason. I can't find 22 inch LTs, I was hoping that dropping to 18 inch wheels would provide enough sidewall to mitigate some of the harder ride from the added plys (plies?). So swapping back is not an option, but perhaps selling them would be. I am pretty sure if no one here wants them...

    Tire Weight

Has anyone moved from 22" factory tires to 18" wheels and LT tires for towing safety? What should I expect to see in ride and fuel economy effects with that change?

    Tire Weight

This seems wrong at first glance, it seems like the tire is rolling and should not need a lot to keep that happening. Until you consider that when the car is running at 60 MPH, the outside tread of the tire is going from zero when it is in contact with the road to 120 MPH at the top of the tire...

    2023 Ordering Timeline Thread

I can say pretty confidently that the first couple of weeks of production were bumped because there were 2022 MY Expys to build yet. Several have appeared in dealer inventory over the past few days with build dates in those weeks. I cannot answer as to why yours was bumped so far and other 23s...

    2023 Ordering Timeline Thread

I think I am going to wait - since there are so few if any changes, if they could build and ship a car 2 weeks ago I am going to hope that they can still build the same car next week and get the one I ordered to me. Unless this one goes on a $8k or so sale. But that won’t happen until dealer...

    2023 Ordering Timeline Thread

Found my sticker there this morning. It is missing the foot operated tailgate removal - I wonder if I am going to have to fight with that gremlin or if they dropped it in 23?

2023 Stealth Performance - Raptor Engine (Cover)

Thanks for confirming that. I was a little concerned about posting the initial comparison but the more I looked at all the posts the more convinced I was that it was correct. Now I just have to confirm they also fit on the 2023 SPP when mine gets here.

    2023 Tow Package

The way I look at it is that is about 1% of the price of these vehicles. I understand the nickle and dime away the price, but the advantages (rear brake assist, digital cameras, better radiator, trailer brake if you ever do need it, etc.) are really worth it - plus as others have said the...
