    We are satisfied with the factory FES. Could there be some improvements yes, but FWIW it functions well. This is one reason I had to send my dealer out of state to locate the vehicle. I didn’t want their aftermarket unit they wanted to sell me.

    The only time it asks me for my password instead of facial recognition is after an update. Maybe yours is updating in the background and you aren’t aware. Mine auto updates as well and this is how I know when ford has pushed out a new version.
