He's got a 2000, from seeing a couple other posts from him...
Speaking of which, I really like the looks of the one you have in your sig. picture.
Thinking of building myself a similar style one (I was a welder by trade in a previous life...)
Truck already had it installed when I bought it.
From the rust on some of the bolts, I suspect it was put on a good many years ago. That is on my list of summer projects,; cleaning up the rusty bits and adding brush guards for the headlights...
Looks like it wasn't a difficult install...
I'm stuck trying to imagine what a kicking noise would sound like...
Kicking a tree? Kicking a dead cow? Kicking a car door? Kicking a brick wall? Barefoot? Sandles? Rubber boots? Ballet slippers?
Right on, good to hear that you got her done.
Have you noticed a difference in driving it now?
Oh, and you might want to stop somewhere and make sure that code is cleared, it will likely be saved and will reappear next time a different issue pops up down the road...
Not sure what the official name for this function is, but when I turn the key off the accessories still retain power for a few minutes.
Windows operate, and other electrical accessories operate until either the delay runs out (about 10 minutes) or a door is opened.
On my 97, all accessories...
Indeed, running 35" tires, I can certainly see why you'd want much steeper gears.
I've got 3.73's in my mustang too, and am thinking I should go to 4.10's, even though my tires are still OEm diametre...
Hi Ray, glad you found the place, welcome
Myself, I like to change complete sets of ignition components when it's in the budget. I find it easier doing it all once rather than changing them one at a time.
That is a wierd one.
At first, I just thought the background noise I was hearing was a bad idler pulley. I had one go bad on me a few years ago and that's what it sounded like.
But that wasn't the sound you were talking about, (for those that are looking, the best example of it is at 2:02...
Sorry sir, completely forgot about this. Took the pic the next morning after you asked, then completely put it out of my mind.
See a dim spot at about 120 on the speedo and 2000 on the tach?
That's a regular bulb that got unintentionally mixed in with the better ones. It was new too...
Agreed, I might do that in an emergency just to limp home, but not for anything else. Too much risk of shorting and loose connections.
Go down to the local parts store and pick up one of these
It is essentially a circuit splitter, takes one fuse block circuit and adds a second one on...
I looked at the link you posted, and that was my exact thought (I was a welder by trade in a former life).
A set would be super easy to fab up, problem being is that by time a guy got through buying the hardware and driving around to buy such a small quantity of material the cost would not be...
Thats good to know, thanks F&P.
Now I know the next thing I have to check out on the truck before I get any nasty surprises.
Important indeed, please don't drive that truck until fixed. I would think that it is pretty close to uncontrollable as it stands now. I can only imagine what...
Warmed up decently today, so did more painting of the replacement fender.
No drips, sags, or runs yet, but there is going to be quite a bit of colour sanding to get it looking good...
Welcome to the site, glad you found the place
