check out this link for more info on the door sticker.
Not sure what year this is for exactly, but gives you a better idea what each one of the codes means.
There is a sticker on the drivers door jam that contains the codes of the major mechanical parts installed on the truck; axles, transmissions, paint and interior colour codes, etc.
It is the same one that shows tire sizes and pressure. Look at the bottom of the tag and find the code under the...
It is pretty straight forward actually, the toughest part is routing the wiring neatly so it does not get abraded (away from sharp edges), and splicing the 'trigger' wire.
For what you want to do, it should be easy.
Splice a wire from the highbeam circuit to the coil terminal ( terminal 86...
Yup, that's what I do. the plug kit rides in a small tool kit I keep under the back seat, so is always with me and ready to go. Just be sure you also have a valve stem tool, my last 3 slow leaks were not completely fixed by the plug (which is temporary anyway), the stem had backed off just...
I am of the same mind as Stamp and CanEx and strongly recommend not adding additional load to the OEM wiring harness.
I have read more than one account where people have tested the ability to deliver enough power for even the basic OEM headlamps and have found the wiring is not even up to...
NOt sure I have much in the way of recommendadtions, but I gotta ask - how are you measuring effectiveness?
No, the LSD will never lock up solid, but neither should it let you do a 'one wheel peal'.
If it is acting like an open diff, then definately look at a rebuild, should be much cheaper...
heh, that was literally the second thing I did to my truck (the first thing I did ws stop at the parts store on the way home and buy 2 tail light bulbs, 3 signal bulds, and a headlight bulb to replace the burnt out ones) when I bought it last year.
I do not remember the exact procedure I used...
Beat me to it Freeway, yet again.
Absolutely correct. The v6 EB is perfect for a light vehicle application, like a Taurus (though it would be better in a focus...), my opinion is that it is not well suited to a truck application.
Personally, I would not own a EB in a truck. Well...
I've thought of doing that very thing myself, but never got around to sitting down and figuring the wiring. Sounds like another spring project for me...
I remember you saying that (more than once) before, and I had a nice selection of extentions, swivel extentions and universals ready to go...
First off, welcome to the Forum
Secondly, thanks for the pic and feedback.
Looks good, now you just need some bigger rubber to fill out those wheel wells some...
One other thing I did accomplish yesterday, changed out the broken rear DS tail light assembly.
It had a chunk taken out of it when the previous owner went 'off road' with it (un-intentially, I believe). So in went a brand new light assembly I received as a gift at Xmas. My father was tired...
Started to change the #3 and 4 plugs and COPS to resolve the 0304 codes I've been getting, but found my hand is too big, my arm is too short, and can't see.
Even after removing the battery, moving the heater hoses and various wiring out of the way I can almost see what I am doing until I get my...
The issue with tank location is not in the case of an accident as such. If the tank blows, which is highly unlikely, you will be a goner whether the tank is in the trunk or underneath between the frame rails - a bit of sheet metal between the tank and your body would be meaningless. Just for...
With no other changes to the engine, going to LPG will actually lose you a bit of power and mileage (a guy tends to lean on the pedal harder when power is down). Back in the day I drove a courier van here in the city that I had converted to the stuff (was 5-15¢ a litre when gas was going for...
Any check engine lights, or other symptoms?
Based on that very brief description, could be a great number of possibilities, but I must admit that a simple misfire comes to mind. that is just a blind guess and shot in the dark without more info...
when it comes down to it, any snow tire will perform better in the snow and ice than an all season.
While my truck currently has all seasons on it currently and I know that it would e better with snows, it is good enough to get me around safely.
I had Hankooks on the last car I had, and...
