There is no way you can post or threads unless you did in fact get the validation email... Reason for this is that it helps me fight off some off the spam by having it set this way.
One thing that comes to mind is you might have a hung up or "frozen" brake caliper thats semi rubbing on the discs which will cause un even wear in the brake pads and also will cause the truck to slow down when your foot is off the gas.
You can pick one up from any auto parts store... Usually runs about 100-150 bucks. If you have any kind of auto mechaical experience its pretty straight forward to replace. Take serpentine belt off, take nut off the power cable attached behind the alternator and then remove the 2 bolts holding...
If its anything liek my wifes explorer the lighter housing simply screws out. Dont take my word for it but thats how i took hers out to check it and it ended up being bad so i bought a new one, stuck it in and then screwed it down (like a bolt) by hand and that was it.
I have been lucky so...
GEM module: $ 840, (common problem, leaky windsheild on drivers side leads to corrosion of this electronic module)
^^ There was a TSB issued for that very reason.
Yes, some places like Wal-Mart sell them for 30 bucks but all they are good for is just the code... those code readers dont have the definitions of the codes, they just throw out a code and then you have to find out what it is.
The rear is located in the rear axle, it has a rubber boot attached to it. Not sure on the front but i dont think there is one for the front. My expy (same year as yours but 2 wheel drive) has shocks and springs in the front. Maybe the 4X4 is different is thats what you have.
Just cause you are getting rid of the expy doesnt mean you have to leave ;)
But as other members have said, you will be missed on the site as well all the good info and advice you have given others. Best of luck. BTW how much is the expy going for?
You dont need to remove any bolts getting the stock grille off. The grille is held in by clips all you have to do is gently pull or grab a flathead screwdriver and gently pry it off. If you are anal like me, i removed the entire grille support section which is all bolted down and some screws are...
Just wanted to thank JUST4FUN on becoming a MOD. I sure need the help as this board continues to grow and its just too much for 1 person to handle. Im sure he will do a great job.
Main thing im looking for here is someone who has the time to come on here and take care of things such as going through all the new registrations ( sometimes theres 20 and others theres 100+) which are mostly spam. Being that this board and admin control panel are so outdated i cant filter the...
Found the problem, after hours and hours of troubleshooting and running diagnostics it ended up being the air suspension control module which is under the dash and behind the radio. All it is is a little black plastic box with 2 sets of pin connectors. The module cant be opened up to repair it...
Well folks its happend to me again. The rear end is sagging. The first time this happend to me it was the air suspension pump so i replaced it and its still under warranty. This time around when i start the truck the pump kicks in and i hear it running but the rear is not raising up at all...
It was a piece of cake for my 99. I took it all apart cause after having the truck for 2 weeks when i bought it new, it didnt stay stock at all. In that area now i have 2 capacitors and an extra battery which are all hidden. My stock sub was 8" so im pretty sure your is too.
My deck has the option to add a back up camera, or a seperate Nav unit... i cant say how good the camera will be since i dont have one but maybe sometime soon i can afford one.
Im still saving for my body kit install but thats not going too good right now since i had to buy a new battery...
I would take new people but i want to give a chance to the people who have been here for awhile. If none of them want it then i have no problem making a new person a MOD.
Thanks,
Billy
