In channel you most likely will run into issues with the window hitting it when you roll them up. I have never had any problems with the stick on and I have installed several on different cars

Of course it is if you can weld and have the material needed. But $40-$80 to get it done by a professional is money well spent. If you were to have problems after you did it, you would most likely take it to a pro anyway
My .02 is if you have TB,s then you can turn them. It should not affect anything differently than one without torsion bars. Usually you can get about 2" out of them but do not max them out 100%
