    That was/is my problem with VMP. I got to the point where I told him I was going to file a complaint with BBB and that most likely shut off communication. But I was very frustrated about the whole thing and this was going on for 2 1/2 weeks.

    5.4 Triton makes wierd noise!!

    Could be a lifter. However some will go tomorrow and some 2 years from now. Check the header bolts and make sure they are snug/tight and not broken. My 99 5.4 had the same thing. The passenger side head went before the lifter so I just let the thing go.

    Depending on the mileage, the springs could simply be soft. Also, the shocks, though not known to actually lift the vehicle, could be soft. Does it bounce more or anything out of the ordinary?

    All the above are the best and easiest starting points. Check the thermostat first and I,d recommend changing it if it has not been. Its not expensive and should be easy to do.
