By the way. I ordered the walker bolt in replacement from Summit. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/wlk-53273
I was going to order the Eastern Catalytic from Rock Auto but with shipping is cost more $254.79 + $35.12 = $289.91
In my search I also noticed I could get the Walker from Rock Auto...
I took it to a muffler shop and they said it was definitely rattling from the drivers side rear cat.
He used his electronic thermometer and said all 4 cats were bad and I should replace them. Is this a LEGITIMATE way to test the cat's? By Tempature? Wouldn't a better way be to read the O2...
Well I couldn't get it over to the lift last night. Had to go home early :(
This morning I raised it way up in the air with the forklift and put jack stands under the control arms so I had more clearance to maneuver.
Of course the noise is not happening right now. You can hear it a little...
Cat's have not been replaced.
It sounds internal. It's either the rear of the engine or torque converter area. Though, you seem to be able to hear it better on the drivers side.
The ideas I could come up with online were. Dragging Starter gear, broken flexplate, bad torque converter(or going...
I am attaching a video of a rattling noise I'm having. It goes away when driving. It is really only noticeable at Idle. I rev it up a little in the video and it goes away.
I have noticed this noise for a few months now, but it is getting worse.
I have been under it to inspect and can't find...
I had this saved on eBay - Front Rear Performance Drilled Slotted Brake Rotors and Ceramic Pads 4WD 4x4 | eBay
Brakemotive. Alot like PowerStop but slightly cheaper. I saw them on some other forum...
The whole system maybe be 460 watts. But, I guarantee you the subwoofer amp is not. I tried doing a search to see if anyone said what the wattage on the sub amplifier was. There were some message board posts that looked promising but, they were old and linked to pages that were not available...
Here's another CHEAP option:
Amazon.com: Sound Storm Laboratories SMCM200 SSL Series Small Application 200W MOSFET Monoblock Amplifier: Electronics
I looked briefly at the wiring diagram for the factory amplifier and was not entirely clear on what colors wire did what. It might take some...
I might be inclined to try something cheap like this:
Amazon.com: Boss Audio Systems CE200M MOSFET Monoblock: Car Electronics
I probably would not run a new wire from the battery, until I tried the existing wiring...
What's the budget?
Ok...
I saw this on craiglist and thought someone might be interested.
1999 Lincoln Navigator S.E "Supercharged"
You can Google this truck at "1999 "Beverly Hills Motoring" Lincoln Navigator S.E " for all of the options.
I wouldn't pay 10 grand for it though...but pretty sweet.
The other morning. I was leaving my house, going slow on my street (20-25mph) and a dog ran out in front of me. I nailed the brake and it felt like a sponge and didn't immediately grab the brakes. They did work but it seemed like it slowed down in the same spongy manner. The 2nd press of the...
This is amazing...I'm doing it asap. I cant trust this beast to not lock they key inside.
I like to start it to cool off when I'm leaving work. But, I always have to leave the window down a little in case it autolocks....The previous owner warned me...
You have a disc in the changer right? Any disc will do....
Maybe you can find a cheap changer?
A jumper of some kind is not going to work. There is actually some communication occurring between the head unit and the changer.
Look at the Mach wiring diagram on this page: Ford Explorer Ranger Enthusiasts "Serious Explorations"® - View Single Post - Subwoofer plug question
What year Expy do you have?
I'm wondering where you read the 5V from there should be a 12v power supply wire and then you will have the Subwoofer+...
Got my Pyramid PW877X 8-Inch 400-Watt Subwoofer installed. Sounds great and CHEAP TOO!
Oh yah...I glued a small thin piece of wood over the bolt hole and did not need to modify the LUMP in the back of the box. I found a bolt that I could thread into the hole to seal it off but that would have...
Hey check out this video too....I believe it contains great information but wow, it's kind of painful to watch.
Wells Ford EGR DPFE Training with Sgt. Tech P0400, P0401, P0402, - YouTube
I second the DPFE sensor. If you have the originally cast aluminum looking sensor. They were a more mechanical design and the replacements that are plastic are an upgraded design.
This link has some good troubleshooting info:OBD-II Trouble Code: P0401 Insufficient EGR Flow
I just remembered...
I have not ordered the replacement subwoofer yet, but I pulled my factory subwoofer out today.
The foam surround was completely disintegrated. I thought about ordering a repair kit to replace the surround. But, I'm going to try a cheapo $19 subwoofer from amazon. Amazon.com: Pyramid PW877X...
Hi All. I responded to a thread in the Audio section with this info but I though someone here might find it useful.
I have a 1998 Navigator with a CD Changer and a cassette player in the dash.
I don't use the CD Changer and I am used to listening to music from my phone in the car.
I want an...
I just want to let everyone know....what I describe above works. I posted that message at 9:52 and became very inspired to try it out. It is now only about 10:25 and all the wiring is done in the console where the changer is so you don't have to take the radio out.
Edit: I posted about my...
Here's what I am about to try. The PIE Aux adapters basically trick the head unit into thinking there is a CD Changer attached, then they send the audio into the head unit on the CD changer audio wires.
I have a CD changer in the 98 Navigator, but I don't listen to CD's.
I am going to put a...
