We've done it to the wifes Gator as well as two of my friends F150s. The hardest part of the install was leveling the lights due to the angle of the bumper.

X2. I picked up a '98 Eddie Bauer in beautiful conditiin a couple of months ago with the intention of making it a camping rig. Just haven't had the time or energy ti get it started. My youngest (15) will probably be taking it over next year anyways.

I used to drive a '93 Bronco in my early twenties. One night I locked the keys in it so I busted out the wing wang figuring smaller piece of glass would be cheaper. Glass guy fixed it for around $150.
Two weeks later the same thing happens . I call the same glass co. out to do the repair. Same...
Time or money.
You'll have to sacrifice one or the other. You've already paid to have a serviceable part so spend a little more to maintain it.
We use these in my shop for lubeing castors. They work fine for occasional use...

I think what @VancouverBob was saying is the only way to gain more lift is with the addition of taller tires.

Get yourself a Benchmark Arizona Atlas. Cost is $25-$30. They are the most in-depth map set for western states available and should give you a better idea of the incredible amount of access out here.
