I thought of that which is why instead of black powder coat, she got bright gloss red.
Plus, not looking where they are going is not my concern. The protection and safety of my occupants and myself are.
The main part is off of some kind of heavy equipment. I believe a Caterpillar Grader but I'm not certain. I notched it on the bottom (Out of view) and had 10" of solid 2x2 square stock drilled and welded onto it.
It will be quite destructive to the poor fool that isn't paying attention and hits me.
Yep! bought some stainless sheet to get the final bends for my custom bracket fab done. Once I get the bends right, I'm going to duplicate them onto heavier gauge stainless sheet, add dimples for cosmetic and structural reasons and finalize.
I will post pics of the final product and get some...
It's been a couple years so far without any incidents. Even with police coming at me on residential streets. I passed........ I watched the mirror and waited for the U-turn but nope.
I used the OEM leads but added a relay to ensure full voltage being sent when on. By default, they will turn off when the high beams are selected.
They are BRIGHT but other people's safety is not my concern in the end. My concern is for the safety of me and mine.
You could, if you were so...
No, There aren't any direct aftermarket whole assembly replacements for the fog/driving lights. That is why I went ahead and retrofitted the LED assemblies that I have on my Expo now.
It was a lot easier than I thought it would be. I removed the entire stock assembly, clipped the tabs from both...
Damn... they've gotten so much less expensive since I bought mine a couple years ago!! I paid $80 for the pair and these include a wiring harness too?! Just... wow.

Here's another tip that most people don't know.
The V-10 Excursion engine uses the same part number COP so I order a kit for a V-10 for a a few dollars more than a V-8 kit and have two spares right off the top.
Also, after I did the COP/Plug swap out I decided I wanted to monitor my Expo's vitals a bit more so I bought a FireTab to use as a dedicated device to run Torque on.
All good questions/observations. Thank you.
I have thought about the placement of the hood bar and yes, if I decided to mount it, it would not be with the stock brackets. I'd fabricate a bracket that mounts to the underside, bends up with an arm that bends from the side to mount the bar to...
I bought both a 42" and 52" curved LED light bars for my Expo.
My son said that the 42" on the hood is a bit too much but I'm not so sure. Maybe just a two-row is too much but a 42" single row would be.... less gaudy??
Here are the test fit pictures :)
After the COP/plug replacement, I ran a quart of straight acetone mixed in with the gas between two full tanks to clean/strip any carbon built up from the extended misfiring.
I figured it out and you're not gonna believe it.
Back story:
A while back. The first thing that went bad was the EGR Solenoid. It burned up so I removed what needed removing to gain access to it and replaced.
Once done, I decided that the Triton 5.4L cover was only cosmetic and didn't actually...
