cool story bro...(share it with us)

We rarely get snow in DFW but when we do, people lose their minds and panic. It's funny as shit. Me, being a snowboarder from Cali originally am one of the only (proactive) Mo-Fo's and slap my chains on all four. I end up being the good guy and helping yank people out of the ditches.

Added a flasher unit to my 3rd brake light

To further warn those behind me to pay attention so they won't impale themselves on my massive rear-guard. I swapped the incandescent bulbs for LEDs and added a flasher unit to it. Hopefully, this will get their attention.

I guess I'll have to make it a platform then :)

So... What do ya'll think of my custom rear guard?

That piece of foam is $100! I think that's criminal to be allowed to charge that for a piece of styrofoam. That 'impact bar' is $200 and not much more than tin and I also plan on replacing it with something a bit more stout.

So... What do ya'll think of my custom rear guard?

My reasoning is that much like every other manufacturer out there, automakers saw the profit associated with engineering vehicles to not just crumple during an accident but for them to completely fall to pieces, therefore increasing the cost of the repair required to bring the vehicles back to...

Heads Up on the Heater Box Vent Door Actuator pricing

I picked up a 2L2H-19E616-AA from Walmart for $24.99 with free Ship to Store which is WAY better than the $50 the local auto parts stores wanted. The part number I listed is the one that is appropriate for MY Expo. There are TWO possibles. Cross or D drive. Verify which one you have before...

What did you do to the expy today

I went with a set from eBay. (queue the flame comments) but I've also ran three separate sets now and I have gained some knowledge through trial. I am lucky enough to have the 2v 5.4 so the job isn't that bad. In all, it took a little over 2 hours. The tougher ones being #6, 7 & 8. Edit: (URL...

    Bonnie's lookin' angry and intimidating

I know the 5/16 (Sorry, NOT 5/8) is 6.32lbs per foot and the solid is 13.6lbs per foot. Edit: I just went and rough measured and it came out to ~16' needed not including the 1/4 plate for making the U-brackets and frame horn gussets/mounts. Yeah... just figured out to ~216lbs total. You're...

    Bonnie's lookin' angry and intimidating

I could fall back to all 5/8" wall tubing or even solid for the middle only between the tow hook mounts and weld/grind/blend walled tubing on the outsides to maintain the look but shave some weight. All I know is that it needs to be stout. Like, I could literally push vehicles out of my way...

    Bonnie's lookin' angry and intimidating

That's my girl ;) I CAN'T WAIT 'til the front bumper I'm fabbing is done. The main span is solid-core steel stock and on the parts where I'm using tubing... She's getting 5/8 wall tubing.

What did you do to the expy today

Not today but about a week and a half ago I swapped out the coils again however, this time for some HiPo coils. The change was immediately noticeable. She's quicker, more responsive and I've already gained 2.5 miles per gallon. I knew the previous coils were shit.

:secret: "It's got a cop motor, a three hundred and thirty cubic inch plant. It's got cop tires, cop suspensions, cop shocks. It's a model made without any catalytic converters, so it'll run good on regular gas. What do you say?"

    Before and after lift pics...kinda

They look nice but I had a thought that I am researching. Instead of putting in the leveling kit (Spacers) I am trying to locate a manufacturer that instead makes a strut assembly that is 3" taller for the front (bolt-on) and a strut assembly that is 2.5" taller for the rear (bolt-on). That way...

Dude, it was THEIR table? Screw that! The funny thing is, you went through a verbal scenario of entitlement like I went through a parking scenario of entitlement. YOU STOOD UP for what was right..... Kinda like I did huh? :)

Holy crap Jeff, that was so well stated and you didn't even mention the investigation into the child abduction for sex trafficking that the Clinton's, MANY in our government INCLUDING Obama are a part of. Question about oil filters

I just did an oil change on my Expo this past week and realized that when I had it changed last (I was out of town) the oil change place used a WAY SMALLER filter on my truck than OEM. Does anyone know if this can have any negative effect and if so, what they are?
