Toggling between 2 and 4 WD is the whole point of AWD isn't it? Initially its only 2WD until the computer detects parameters (such as loss of grip) that mean power has to be sent to all 4 wheels.
Stop start has been implemented by major vehicle manufacturers for a decade now. In fact, Ford have had it on their non North American models for years. The wear is already compensated for and fuel economy *can* increase if you're doing a lot of city driving.
Isn't intelligent 4WD functionally the same as AWD?
The order guides for both the '19 Explorer and Expedition list intelligent 4WD (Expedition also has a one speed transfer case).
Actually I think that's how they get away with having the 4WD badge on the back of the Explorer (so damn annoying).
Which is the point of not having them on with low beams. Having the fog lights on in normal lighting conditions doesn't really help with seeing further, only a bit more peripheral vision, and can actually make it more difficult to see into the distance as your eyes aren't accustomed to the dark...
.... What? Do you read what you type?
Retrofitting the correct housings is actually the correct thing to do. It ain't cheap, and it ain't easy. But visibility and light containment will better for everyone involved.
Did your ego seriously get that hurt because I pointed out PnPs aren't really...
Well, theoretically yeah. You can buy the parts online. Probably need to check the service manual for the correct part numbers and installation procedure. Forscan for reprogramming if needed.
LED upgrades do cost more although halogens are actually better, watt for watt. They throw light further and aren't as disturbing to oncoming drivers - halogens are usually warmer too, even if white, and puts less strain on the eyes of oncoming drivers. France even had law that required all...
From your quote above "... which we call Street Legal".
Not DOT or some other legislative body, but the company selling the product. Who have a motive to sell it, to earn money.
You still don't have a set of federally legal PnPs to show.
Its literally linked on the last page.
Please provide proof of your claims. If they are DOT approved, they will clearly state so. There is no way that the company who made those wouldn't plaster in huge letters everywhere because it would quite literally be a first.
Adjust them as you wish, and...
A cop not caring about enforcing the specifics of the law (what a surprise) is not the same as something being legal. Are you going to get stopped for it? No. Is it illegal? Yes. Is it dangerous? Yes.
Have some consideration for other road users. By putting LEDs into a housing designed for...
Actually it specifically states that homophones have been excluded.
But I get your point.
Yes it does require both parties to have the app to decode, however it's far more accurate than Google maps, especially in non English speaking countries (I discovered this in Cyprus a few years back).
I'm not sure. You would have to check the forscan spreadsheets that people have made up and see if it's possible to do it. It probably is, because these Expeditions share a common platform with the F150s.
However, whether or not a dealer would enable such changes using IDS, I don't really know...
I wonder if it would be possible to add the towing mirrors from an F150. I know they can be retrofitted to an F150 that doesn't have them, and the Expedition seems to take quite a few cues from it. Might even be from a F250, but it seems doable.
Just a little FYI about maps. Google maps allows you to download maps for free for a month or 2, and that should include POIs, businesses, etc.
There's also another maps app I would HIGHLY recommend, called what3words - https://what3words.com
One of the cleverest things I've ever seen, it makes...
No they can use the actual software that Forscan is based off of, called IDS.
Forscan is a reverse engineered version of IDS. It is extremely powerful and you should be careful with what you're doing. If you're not sure, have someone who knows what they're doing do whatever it is you want...
