Thanks for that link.
It looks like the left pad has a dedicated spot in the upper righthand corner (red circle) that I'm guessing directly calls up the cruise function menu on the screen (?). Those screen menus for the pad functions, at least in the video, don't persist and disappear after a...
It remains to be seen exactly how they implemented the steering wheel joystick-trackpads (or whatever they are)....but when highway/freeway driving with cruise engaged, I can now—just by feel without having to look at anything—tick cruise speed up/down, turn off cruise momentarily if taking a...
I like the ergonomic placement of the new 'wide' display, but I'm very skeptical about the almost complete discarding of buttons and knobs—especially the tactile steering wheel buttons, the drive mode knob, and the multi-function 15" screen rotary knob (temp, seat heat/cool, fan). The steering...
It looks like a 'nope' for me, but I'll wait to see it in person (if the dockworkers' strike is ever settled).
Platinum interior looks cheapened from my 2022.
I might have to go back to a navigator.....
Sometimes when I'm on hands-free BlueCruise it feels to me like the car is too close to one side of the lane or the other, but when I look in the mirrors I'm always surprised that the truck is in fact in the center of the lane.
BluecCruise is not affected by glasses or sunglasses. I've circled the 2 cameras; regardless of where on the steering wheel my hands are that's never caused an interference.
When I first started using BluecCruise it was driving me crazy: I would be staring dead ahead at the car in front of me...
If you tried to get it repaired it would never be the same. I got t-boned in a previous Navigator with less damage than that and the insurance company totaled it.
There's devices that allow car thieves to scan for remotes from outside a building or house; the device communicates with the remote and then can clone it. There's videos showing thieves outside houses at night scanning for remotes—when they find one they can clone it in seconds—and then backing...
That 'feature' should always be off. It's stupid and dangerous — the cameras often pick up speed signs it their field of view that are not for the road/lane you're on, with a resulting sudden and unexpected speed change.
When I first got the truck, the 'watch the road' warning, followed by BlueCruise disengaging, happened constantly and was driving me crazy. I was looking with a dead stare at the license plate in front of me and it would still go off. I couldn't figure how I could 'watch the road' more intently...
The 15" was a big selling point for me in choosing the Expedition.
IIRC, from renting a couple Expeditions with the smaller screen, with the 15" you get a larger rear camera and 360° top-down view when backing up, as well as a larger front and 360° view when going forward slowly (when you hit...
I've had kamikaze deer bolt out of the treeline and ram into the side of my cars twice, so you really need a force field surrounding the car for true protection.
Black Label Navigator can go over $120K depending on options. Aside from some nice wood on the dash and doors, I don't see anything you don't get with a Platinum Expedition (except a tiny screen vs. 15.5" on the Platinum). I love mine, and I've had 4 Navigators.
