It is a PITA to get to because you have to remove all of the right rear plastics in order to access it. It is actually mounted on the sub enclosure itself ( right above the wheel well ) with 4 screws.
This pic is of a factory Ford remote start/alarm system ( this system does both ). The remotes are a all in one with the factory lock / unlock, panic, and remote start. These systems work really well as long as whoever installs it knows what they are doing and hooks up everthing. Also this...
Yes the sub enclouser for the 1st gen expy's is a sealed enclouser, and you will actually have to pull the box out to get the factory sub out of it because they have a bolt holding the back of the sub  which you will have to plug so that it stays a sealed enclouser. As for any of the Mach...
Call your local dealers parts department with your VIN # they can pull up the build sheet on your vehicle and tell you which of the factory ford units will work ( factory ford remote for the keyless entry and remote start ). I can get the top of the line Ford alarm/remote start for mine for...
I have not had to do this ( thankfully - knock on wood ) but I have heard that changing the compressor can be a PITA. I have heard quite a few say that there is not enough room to do the compressor from the bottom so you have to pull the clutch fan off to pull it up from the top side.
I am...
For the front end it does almost sound like it may be bearings due to the fact that when you put a load on it by pressing the gas you can get the sound to go away ( costing or crusing the bearings will have more play since nothing is putting extra force on them )
For the rear have you checked...
How many miles are on the truck?
2wd or 4wd?
Almost sounds like you may have lost the pump if you lost all gears that quickly.
Have you checked the trans fluid? Burnt?
Have you gotten under the truck to see if there are any visible large trany fluid leaks? ( May have lost a high...
Definatley sounds transmission related, I would go back to the dealer and have the service manager ride with you and see if you can get it to replicate. I had an issue with a tranny one time that the dealer could not replicate so I took the service manager with me on a drive and low and behold...
Hella 500FF. I mounted them horizontaly to the fiberglass reinforcment so that I would not block alot of air flow to the center of the radiator. I live in southern New Mexico and do alot of towing and I have never seen over 200 on the aftermarket temp gauge. It also makes it easier to re-aim...
all you have to do is when you are on the average miles screen, push both of the buttons at the same time and it will reset. Do this while going down hill and your expy will show 60+ MPG :D . The more often you reset the computer the better milage you get ( or so I have found ) especially if...
With that wheel/tire combo I am not sure if you can drop it any. I have been told that in a 22" the biggest tire I can run on my '02 EB 2wd with out rubbing is a 305/40r22.
I would check with a reputable tire shop like america's/discount tire or big - o any large tire shop will let you know...
Make sure you DO NOT USE CARB CLEANER ON THE MAF SENSOR in the intake, the wires that are used to mesure the air flow are very small and carb cleaner can eat them. The MAF is really expensive so make sure you spend the extra 6 bucks and get actuall MAF CLEANER.
Have not put one in yet but found this install kit which shows where you need to do the cutting and triming. I will hopefully be getting mine in before christmas.

And here are the install directions which will show you all of the tools...
It will not hurt anything to put in two bottles of the modifier but if that does not take care of it I would switch to the Royal Purple. I had run Valvoline full synthetic with two bottles of modifier and mine still shuddered but after switching to the Royal Purple I have not felt it once.
It sounds to me like you may need a new ignition switch. If the air bag light and the milage is still showing after the key is off and out then the switch is not going to the full OFF AND LOCK position. If the ignition is still on then the remote will not work because it is disabled by the...
Since in the begining of his post he states that he has a 2001 5.4L then it DOES NOT HAVE CAM PHASERS. The cam phasers came out in the 2004 3V 5.4L with the variable timing.
For a 2001 5.4L 2V it is more than likely the hydrolic lash adjusters. Try running a good motor flush thru it and...
The PATS sensor would not cause the starter to go dead, the only thing that the PATS system will lock out is the fuel. If by hitting the colum or a good slam of the door will change the symptoms, you may have some loose wiring on the ignition switch or a short somewhere in the colum (which...
No those housings will not work because they are for a first gen ( '97 - '02 ) your housings are different. Alot of the companies on ebay list the first gen lights as fitting but they are completly different.
You would need something like this ...
The glare is pretty typical of any aftermarket HID setup in factory housings, if it bugs you that much you could try to go to aftermarket housings but I think you will end up with the same problem. The only way I know to get rid of the glare is to go with a set of projector housings but it can...
Yes I can move the lock by hand and with the key and it works smoothly. While I had the door apart, I used my multi meter and messured the V at the harness Red / Orange and Pink / Black got a big fat 0 .
Thats why I am wondering if it is maybe the Security module, like I said I can hear...
It could be the compressor if you have air ride. The rubber bushings that they used to mount the compressor suck and wear out. When they wear out it sounds like crap but dosn't harm it just vibrtates more and again the sound. You can get the new bushing kit for pretty cheap, it's just kind of...
