If at all posible when doing the cat back try to get rid of the factory Y and run a dual in / single out muffler. The factory Y is really restrictive and for the little extra money you will see a large increase in performance along with a small increase in fuel economy.
The factory Y is...
? how many miles are on the truck?
Given the year I would say at least 100k?
Alot of people do not change out the coils and plugs for:
1. Ford says it dosn't need to be done until 100k
2. They are a bit of a PITA
3. If the old owner had heard the stories of plugs being "spit out"...
Under acceleration is when you need the most spark and if the coils are going out ( something is causing a missfire we know this by the blinking CEL) you will not have the power needed and the truck will begin to shudder, buck and jump around.
Think of it this way what happens when you are...
Sounds like you my friend have the infamous windsheild leak. I will leak in the top corner and run down and drip on the GEM module. Look under your dash for water spots and if you see them have your windsheild resealed!
The lower rated michilins have a max air pressure rating of 44psi so I would run them at 40psi if I where you. I had seen another post of yours saying that you thought you where at 30-35psi. If you run them at 40 will be up at the top of your load carry capacity, and also get better fuel...
It depends on the size that you got but you should be ok since you will not have much tounge weight with that little pop up.
Here is what I found on the load capacity from tirerack.com, just look for your size and it will give you what they are rated at...
Looks great man those things are bright as hell! If you could get pics from a little bit of a distance that would be awsome so that everyone can see a little better what they look like.
As far as the Tq converter issue I have seen stranger so I would not rule it out just yet.
But then you mention having the CEL flashing at you at times. When the CEL is flashing, it means that you have a missfire on one or more cylinders but it is random and not steady enough to SET the CEL...
I am not to sure what all Magnaflow offers, but I am running the Flowmaster Big Block 70 series and it is not very loud until you step on it (it is just as long as the factory muffler but more free flowing)! Otherwise it is just a nice mellow tone.
I was able to find these catalytic...
well the non foulers are actually for the spark plugs but alot of people say that they space the o2 out far enough that they won't throw a code(never tried this so couldn't tell ya if it works).
As far as the eliminators, they are a small box that plugs into the harness ( basically a resistor...
yeah with the o2 sensors unhooked the computer will never come out of "open loop" (basically it is running on factory defaults stored in the computer) this being the case there are a lot of enviromental factors that could be messing with the way it runs (ie: altitude, temp, humidity and so on)...
The easiest way to check your u joints is to get under the truck with it in park and try to "twist" your drive lines back and forth. If the u joints are bad you will see the bad one right away. If the drive line moves a little but you cannot see a bad u joint then it could possibly be slack in...
We are sittin at $3.35 for regular and $3.50 for premium. I have been running the Edge on Power level 3 so I have to fill up with premium.
Not to bad thou only an extra $4.50 for a full 30 gallon fill up and I get an extra 2 mpg out of the premium with the tune, so $5 bucks for and extra 60...
Well at least the saying goes :poop: ALWAYS COMES IN 3'S so it looks like that is all taken care of and everything should be in your favor for a while!
I definatley hear ya on everything being a PITA! Being without your ride because of someone else's stupidity and having to deal with all the...
Yeah the biggest price increase is when you pick the muffler(s) that you want you can easily add another $100 or more to your price depending on what you go with!
My Big Block 70 series ran $150 (Oreilly's price matched Autozone) and it is a DI/SO that same muffler was quoted at just under...
What ever lights you go with just convert them over to HID not only will they be brighter, but the factory harness will handle the wattage since it is lower. There is a thread somewhere on here for converting the Hella 500's over using an H3 HID kit pretty easy to do and alot more light output...
That would depend on the type of muffler(s) that you want to go with, and also if you can do the welding yourself or have a buddy that could do it.
For a shop probably around $500 + (parts & labor) just depends on what you want to do.
I did a rear cat delete, removed the factory Y and...
I think I'm gonna pic up some used switches from the wrecking yard next time im in El Paso that way I can take my time doing this. When you have 2 kids you get interupted A LOT!
When you get the Blue LED'S in post some pics, I am undicided if I want to go Red to match my truck or if I want...
Those systems work really good, and the nice thing is that it get's rid of the "floating" feeling on the front end as well.
The 1 thing that I would recomend thou is if you have the money make sure to pic up an on board compressor as well it makes it so much nicer because you have constant...
You are correct that the Expy will haul it with out a problem, BUT since he stated that it has a RESSE hitch that makes me think HE DOES NOT HAVE THE FACTORY TOW PACKAGE!
If he starts putting on that kind of weight with out making sure that he has a class IV hitch he could be putting lives...
