you may be able to jump a wire from the source side of an ignition controlled fuse and use an external fuse holder/wire pigtail into the old fuse slot (fused side) for the outlet. This would be pretty easy and allow you to put it back to stock without any trouble.

try slowing changing the temp control for the rear ac and see if it stops. If it does then either the temp selector is bad (try seeing if the same thing happens with the rear control) or the temperature damper door position sensor has given up on you. Try making a few cycles of the selector...
That's quite a jump in economy. What kind of air filter are you using that the mass air meter is getting that dirty in the first place? I usuallly use electric motor cleaner on the mass air meter element. How long has your mileage been that bad?
I think the 5.4 motor starts getting out of it's cruise effeciency range at about 1900 RPMs. Ford did a really retarded thing when they designed the motors. They use the exact same cams in the 4.6 and the 5.4..... They should have upped the duration of the cams for the 5.4 just a tad to have...
well you can equate it to a standard transmission of starting at 1500 rpms (or whatever your stock stall is) or 2500 rpms (higher stall converter).
There is alot more power available at 2500 rpms than there is at 1500 to start the vehicle moving.
Test yours by watching the tach when...
Yes it does come out. I had to take mine out to get the driver's side rear panel off to hide my amplified bazooka 8" in there...
All you need is a metric socket set....
The seatbelts require a big torx driver to remove.
Matt
Do you get the noise when you close the vents completely? Your door noise may be the latch out of adjustment or someone on here was mentioning something about replacement door seals/latches......
Matt
Sweet.... I want to put 4.10s in mine too. I wonder how much it affects the highway mileage. Your in-town mileage should actually get better. Next upgrade would be a higher stall converter........
Matt
Yes I can build tunes for any ford vehicle 96 and newer....
No I can just sell you the hardware and a free software package that allows you to load files I send you into the flash interface, but I would also send the flash tuner with up to 5 pre-loaded tunes, you would choose which tune to...
IF it's just a cheap kit you may be required to do a little fabrication. Most of the kits make you remove the Mass Air meter out of the factory housing and keep it in the open. There is then an adapter that bolts to the mass air meter so you can clamp on the filter.
Matt
Yes you can add fuel and timing with the special forces software, but the tune would be married to either for gas or high ethonol. I have a way of writing a tune with my software that would allow the computer to automatically adjust the fueling parameters without freaking out the computer...
I will be a full sniper dealer after the year selling my custom tunes and chips or programmers.
Yes I can address some of the issues with the older trucks as well but they aren't as redarded as the 05 and newer expeds with the 3 valve motor.
And just so you know my tunes are not built with...
How much throttle are you giving it when it rumbles. Do you mean very light acceleration or medium acceleration? With the windows open do you hear any funny noises coming from the engine?

You have to call them and have them put different gaskets in the kit for the 2003.
But wait on the kit, I can do a program with and without the earlier OD Kickout on the same programmer. I just want to make sure mine wasn't a fluke. I...
I can tell you how to put a powerdyne blower on the truck and I can supply the tune...... You will need at least svo 30lb injectors meant for a mustang and some adapters to make the wiring harness mate up. You will also need to machine the face of your harmonic balancer to accept the extra...
The ones that do the retarded part throttle converter lockups are the 05 and newer when they went to the 3 valve motor. The 03 and 04 just lockup the converter too early in 3rd gear and don't kick out of overdrive early enough. I have the shifting pretty much perfected on the 03 and 04 and I...
And hell if you are close enough to Spring, TX we can even do some custom dyno tuning at Connley's performance if you want. You can rent the dyno for $125 an hour with wideband O2 logging.
Matt
You can get their "special forces" package and then I can change your tunes via email if you go the flash route or get the chip and I can burn it for you and you get 6 shift on the fly positions. Or you can get the stuff directly from me after the new year.
My tunes use a different software...
Don't replace the ones behind the cats unless you are specifically getting codes for them. They do nothing for the fuel mixture and thus don't affect mileage, they are only there to monitor the cats "cleaning" of the exhaust.
Matt
Ahh yes you have discovered ford's stupidity. What you are feeling is this shift pattern at part throttle:
1st gear, then shift into 2nd, lock converter, unlock converter then shift into 3rd, lock converter, unlock converter then shift into 4th, lockup converter.
at heavier throttles you...
OH and nobody I know of makes "canned" tunes for higher ethonol blends. My tunes are truly custom and tested before I let someone else have them. I ran on e85 when I lived in the chicago area and learned quite alot about the stuff and about how to make the ford computers automatically...
Yep, As soon as I get back from my pre-christmas travels I will buckle down and do some tunes for you guys. I really don't think the 10 percent ethonol would effect the gas mileage that much, but if they are lying and putting more than that then you need to up the timing to compensate, but that...
