I "had" air shocks in the rear. They blew out. Definitely not designed for wheeling.
I'd recommend going with spacers and the torsion twist. Then do better shocks all around.
well, yesterday I took a look under there and both of the air jackers are blown out. Today I replaced both with some ranchos and all is good again.
Tomorrow, she gets new tires and I'll make sure to go over the bushings on the trackbar. The swaybar links were fine, but I'll pay closer...
no, this isn't a thread about my personal indiscretions. :p
I have a 1997 eb expy 4wd. Today, while heading to work, the back end started behaving strangely. after hitting a bump, the rear end gets squirmy and wanted to walk sideways. Its also a really bouncy ride.
any ideas...
It is different state to state. Here in Michigan, my exhaust setup is completely legal. But if I go 30miles south into Ohio, no cats is a big no no.
OP, why not just fix the oil leak?
after getting a new/jy engine and putting it in, chasing a myriad of electrical probs...she's back on the road!
I also threw in some pioneer components in the doors, an alpine head unit and a 12" MTX sub/amp combo in.
It's been steam cleaned and I am just enjoying driving it!
Cleaned it up...
Anyone know what size bolts are needed to put the front wheel well liner in on a 1997?
Mine came with the liners out, but in the back of the truck.
Thanks!
I'm a pastor in the Metro Detroit area. I also do graphic design on the side, some landscaping and plow snow in the winter. It all helps pay the bills! :)
right. In a housing designed to run a HID, still has a cut-off, correct reflectors, etc...
a HID setup in our stock housings, while gives that cool blue/white look, could be so much more effective with a properly designed housing.
but if you want usable light, steer away from the HID's in a non projector housing. looking cool is only half the battle. But, if you want to blind everyone you pass, then go for it! LOL!
The main concern I would have with doing this is if the plastic housings are up to the task of...
I would love to see that 4.5 in an expy. It would require a complete overhaul of the truck. Leaving only frame and body un modified. Might as well do a sas while you're in there...with superduty axles front and rear.
Here she is, kinda cleaned up.
1997 EB, 5.4
torsion twist, spaced in the rear, 3" body lift. Long tube headers, CAI, custom tune, flowmaster 50 series, electric fan. Sitting on 315/75's
I'm in that exact boat right now. my expy needs a new engine. cost of rebuilt engine + labor is still much less than a new truck.
These things don't exactly keep their value, either.
